Just to throw another option out there, I love my Lowepro 400AW. Pretty excellent pack. I have had it for 5 years and it looks good as ever. Bomb proof.

This is what I currently use for MTB photography... it's a fairly light and practical pack that I can easily fit my 70D & 18-135mm into. I like the carrying capacity as well, plenty of room for a 2L bladder, tools, and even a light jacket. My only complaint is with the top-load internal main pocket; I wish it were closed off to the camera compartment, sometimes it's a PITA when things move down to the bottom of the pack. I may just sew it closed.

I thought that too at first, but I am finding for road trips I can stuff a 17 inch macbook pro in that space to keep all my shit together. Me likey.
