I'm intrigued by the film being an OG K. Smith fan (Clerks, Chasing Amy).

Interesting spiel w/Peter Travers here: http://www.rollingstone.com/movies/b...state-20110307

Not sure about the legitimacy of this site (since they don't publish any exact numbers), but they report that Smith has made his money back on Red State after a 15-date tour of the film: http://www.positivelycelebrity.com/2...ith-red-state/

What's interesting about all of this is that it's not new. Tom Laughlin did the exact same thing with his 1971 film Billy Jack. He made it w/o studio help and didn't have a distributor. Instead he took the finished film around to movie theaters and promoted it himself. If anything, Smith is returning to his indie roots.

White trash gone crazy is the best kind of entertainment when you want brain-dead amusement. Reality TV is a close second.

BTW what is the most common white trash question "can I marry my sister uncle-daddy" ??

I clicked "save" for this movie in Netflix. I wonder if I will ever get it from them?
