Loon and Cannon
worked at Loon for years, Bunyan Room back when employee discount on Molson keg beer was Sixty cent's for a 12oz plastic cup! i miss the old days at the ski hill, before the corporate bullshit. mom and pop run hills that gave a shit about the locals.
guess the Steaux experience is the way to go.

no fucking way, i knew it!!! i was a couple/few years behind you minus college (snowboarding got in the way
, like infinitely), but boy do i remember you ripping down the sides of trails and whatnot on yer supercomps? and skinnies. nobody ripped it like you from what i remember. i can distinctly remember riding the chair one day the 1st time i saw you and the dood next to me sez, "oh ya, that's gp, he's the man".
man crush? maybe just a lil bit
the garr connection totally makes sense now. whooo, mystery solved.

oh fuck, garr is a trip of the finest kind. he would run into ski school where our team hungout between stick chasing sessions, and be like, "rog, rog, rog, dude, dude, dude!" in that high pitched kackle, "the edges are sweet right now! snows pushed over, lets go rip short swings from t2b!!!". he'd grab his
207cm k2 eis skis and i'd grab my sims slalom board and we'd go turn for turn. the whole time he'd yell out, "SWING!", for the trail side turn, and, "BAM!", for the woods side turn on the berm.
he was one of the reasons why i would start skiing many years later.
such good memories to have

Nice pics VTF... good times, friends and food. Great shindig all around.
Speaking of shindigs... who would have thought you'd ever be post holing in these conditions?!

New farm toy helps, though

NOTE: Tractor is NOT mine... belongs to the farm. I get to drive it once in a while, though.Last edited by BigDaddy; 07-19-2012 at 04:16 AM.

supercomps were the balls! name drop here...micah's first day on them and tele's throws a huge 50'+ gelande style x-up off this natural in jh and just swears its all about the supercomps. ok, i need a pair! i move back to vt and buy a pair at the Alpine shop in burlington. brought them back two days later and said no f'n way can i wear these...my rock shoes aren't this tight. veteran sales guy looks at me and says just wear the bladders around the house and be patient. he was right...most comfortable boots i've ever owned. i still have them today, but i'd prolly have more support wearing my flip flops.

Biggins, I assume you mean Rt 17? The most awesome place on the other side is the Bobcat Cafe in Bristol. You may want (in fact, you have to) make a reservation. Place books up on weeknights.
Enjoy, Verrrr-mont. (We'll be at the Shelburne Inn for the Vermont Cheesefest this weekend, if you or anyone else is there... paging ISBD?)
Moeghoul, that sucks.... was looking for you. Wish I could say you didn't miss anything, but it was awesome.Screw the net, Surf the backcountry!

Maybe, thought there was something else out that way (on 17). TC often referred to it in this thread I believe. At the 3 Penny in Mont-P right now. Hot time, summer in the valley...

Took some kids out to the Rapid River to teach them how to paddle and live on an island for the last three weeks.

Scouting Screw Auger with the bros/drivers/NER-extrodinar.

Had some nice sunsets

And one good storm.

Devil's Hopyard is a long swim.

Some nice foggy mornings.

Our classroom does not suck.

The boss even came out to the middle of nowhere to visit.

Better than coffee, morning Smooth Ledge at 1800

And synchronized bad rolls. Though the one in blue went from not rolling at all that morning, to hitting a roll in the middle of a class 3+ that afternoon.
Heading out on Sunday to do it again.

The river stuff is nice, but that's a really sweet lightning shot Fenris. How did you do the timing? Lots of missed ones?
-

Fenris, That looks like a worthy project and and fun to boot.
Bobcat = former TC hangout. Did you eat at the Penny? Wondering how the new resty is.
Fugging weather is so nice now. Mid 60's post work ride = 2 hours of up and down with only one 1 minute stop at Valley View, feels like fall
. SW and I are toying with the idea of heading to Brownsville tomorrow afternoon, overnighting and riding Sat. morninng, anyone going to be around?

f/8 10s 200 ISO (which is base) on a 15 second timer remote. I had to go wander around and make sure the kids hadn't booted their mac and cheese all over their tents during the storm, so it ended up taking about 25 shots.
Hopefully I can add in the vary-ND for a storm this next session and get a whole bunch of bolts in a single frame.

BD, the trails are across Plunkton Rd from the lake, so not part of Ole's or BL xc systems. The USFS owns a fair bit of land here and we have dreams of a bigger network.
Thanks for the photo info, Fenris. Good stuff.
