Yup, was a good time. I think the numbers were about the same as last year with about 600 registered riders for the guided trail rides and then a couple hundred that don't register. I did kinda expect to see you there...
Saxon Woods? Blah. Go give the new trails in Yorktown a try.
Yeah you do
Can you get out early Sunday morning? There's a small possibility I'll be out abusing myself.

Nice one Rog. Love Konas. I think i've owned 5 over the years.. Still have a 2004 Cinder Cone for the rare time I hit the trails, and my trusty old Lava-Dome (from High School!) hanging in the back room with i can't count how man kms on it. Rode trails, toured, made it into an ice-bike.. Can't bear to part with that one, those frames last forever!
I owened a Kona Jake for a few years before selling it for a classy steel road bike. Great bike, and i'm sure the carbon fork on yours will soften the ride a bit.
All sun for the next 7 days up here, enjoy it y'all! I know I will...

nice hanging out with you nopholio for a few days and getting to show you a couple
ski things we do. the touring we did in the snowstorm was my favorite part of the
adventure, brought back memories of an epic winter. glad you chose to spin the chairs
on saturday and get some skiing in as well
i will have someone post some pics in padded seats from solstice party atop Alpentals Denny Mt.
be ready for some waterskiing on Flowing Lake when you get back.

Snow conditions varied widely, but was happily surprised that the majority skied very well. Had a 65 degree day at closed resort with 2800' of descent on really fun wet corn...with only the bottom 200' getting grabby. And that was with no re-freeze, so I will take that any day. Baker was a whole mixed bag of tricks, but less than optimum conditions.

Saxon is close to home. That's the only reason I went there. Not very entertaining. I was planning to go this year, I lost track of the days with busting my neck. I'm finally good to ride and I miss it, next year.
I think I can slip out from the gf for a lil bit. Let me lnow

06-15-2012, 09:20 AM #8988Now please go pedal your hipster ass off a long pier into the 3' "surf" that you rave about.. "Dude, the rollers were almost knee high! FUCKING SICK BRAH!!!! Now I'm going to pedal 9.45829 miles uphill both ways and find some chick to hit with chloroform to ensure that she won't run away.. Not sure if K-mart has a six pack that'd fit your head.. don't be upset if I tell you to shut the fuck up before the first lift tower or 'accidentally' slam the safety bar on your massive, un-helmeted, melon.

Magic didn't make a lot of noise in this thread over the last year, but they just tweeted this pretty awesome blog post that I thought some people would appreciate.

Most perfect wave ever. Holy shit. Do want.
Work has me down to 2 days a week. They did just tell me I'm eligible for a 401k now. Wohoo?
Time to look for a new job. Need to make a call about raft guiding full time.

Finally received the photos taken by some hikers last week.
Looking back on it, hard to believe I was skiing back then . . .
although come to think of it, hard to believe I was skiing even at the time!
Here I am looking very carefully at my heel piece to ensure I'm really in (having forgotten what it felt like after over three weeks without skiing):
And having completed what I sure hope were my minimum of ten turns (although I forgot to count), here I am looking down at the drop-off down below to confirm that the distinctive cube-like rock I'd placed on the snow down and to my left to mark my intended exit is indeed the same rock in the same position as I had intended:

Dynafit DyNA boots and Movement Fish-X rando race skis, connected with Marker Duke bindings on DynaDuke swap plates.
(Or was it the new ~9oz per pair Marker rando race bindings...?)
Thanks -- I'm not sure if Micayla was aware of it, but everyone else was!
(At least she went to bed without too much protest, and before that he extensive protest at naptime made me look good because I was brought it to resolve it successfully.)
The only thing more ridiculous than the limited extent of the skiing last weekend was how ridiculously nice the snow quality was -- such a small amount of snow has no business being so good, because then you just wish even more that there was more of it!For those stuck in the Northeast, follow my NE Rando Race Series and check out my avalanche course. (For other avalanche course providers anywhere, feel free to use any of my "homework" assignments for your own courses too.)

well i saw the smooth perfect best in the universe corn consistency with my own two eyeballz that day, but because of the ultra limited amount of the perfection, hazards, the extra work to make it happen, and the fact that my partner is so ridiculously nice, chillin was the call for us. glad you took one for the team!
our spring snow is unreal eh? fkna. none better (all day long) and i'm stickin to it!
