This is a badass van if I ever saw one

Riding the Jet again, cuz why the hell not? Thing rules the slop too.

Rode a snowskate for the first time on Friday, pretty fun, but not sure how I feel about the ski, hard to balance for me... powder surfer above was much easier to ride in the steeper mashed potatoes. Ground breaking day today.. wish I had a go pro

Get some! Back to Smuggs tomorrow...

Don't say it often, but today was epic...
Bump for stoke. Back to back days up high on George. Incredible conditions right now. thanks again Drew - epic indeed!
Yesterday with Nuefox and non-mags Brian and Shane. Hopefully, they will post some pics. They are back today to finish the job.
Awesome day up the cog (very short hike to skinning!). To Clay and Pipeline. For those guys first time in. Think they liked it! Little late and the snow was heavy but good. A pair of Lotus 120's are in the quiver for next year! Couple notes to self - lock boots into ski mode before dropping into to 50 degree + shoot ; and Pipeline is a cooker - get up earlier. The sun just beats in there).
After that to Airplane. Got ambitious but slowed due to graupel - the shit is like quicksand. And if I get into a fight I want Nuefox on my team. Charged up the skin and booter in tough conditions. Huge effort. Xtra time due too conditions and time of day meant no time for turns. I had to bail home to complete the honey-do list for today. Those guys should reap sweet rewards today. Get some boys.
All that snow we got stuck to everything. Couple lines in not your typical places are going to go down this week.

    Great pictures TC and lynchdogger!

Killington was a blast yesterday. Funny how it's the same crowd every spring. Threw out my back and crawled home with my tail between my legs.

    Here's some POV mogul anti-stoke .

forecast for 81 degrees at killington tomorrow!

I was thinking of heading up for a day, but it looks like it's going to be a bit sloppy. Not forecast to get below freezing any night this week...

Him and his buddy were nice enough to humor me for a few runs . The kid is less than half my age (now that's depressing) and won the BMMC last year. Fun to watch, but no way I could keep up with that business.

Lynchy this looks so good, trackless Dodges =. I made the same mistake with locking the boots 4 years ago. Dodges with boots unlocked led to some interesting "moments", I have the releases taped closed now.

Superstar and the Beasties say spring for sure.

I am amazed at how fast the snow melted yesterday. Where I was skiing 2 feet of new snow Tuesday is now bare ground. Rollercoaster continues with a forecast of 71` at 2900' today. Wed. looks like a winner to get whatever is left.

Today: Sunny, with a high near 71. Windy, with a southwest wind between 21 and 26 mph.

Tonight: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms, then a chance of showers after 10pm. Increasing clouds, with a low around 40. Very windy, with a west wind 45 to 48 mph decreasing to between 33 and 36 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Tuesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 49. Windy, with a west wind between 18 and 28 mph.

Tuesday Night: Clear, with a low around 25. North wind between 3 and 10 mph.

Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 47. North wind around 6 mph.

Really thank Drew/ecbc - his call on the line and his pic. Great partner we skied that smart and safe. Best line of my year for sure. Fortunately, the boot snafu happened on top of Pipeline in much softer snow on Sat. Not that I enjoyed but least there were not any serious consequences. Stupid move and won't happen again. Hahaha.

What concerns me more is the pin on the toe wing on one of my Plum bindings backed out twice in two days up there. If epoxy doesn't do the trick I will be switching back to marker f12's or maybe new atomic setup. Gear failure happens just don't want it to happen in high consequence terrain. No bueno. Inspect your gear!

    Great weekend. FKNA, great weekend!

Fun, warm day at Jay on Saturday - ran into friends and random people throughout the day. Took a lap down Tuckerman's because the Tram was running. A nice, ski-width wide ribbon of corn with a couple of rocky chokes made for an interesting run, but worth it. Great weather all day, great apres in the lot. Damn, it feels good to be out on skis again!

I was at Jay Saturday too. Beautiful warm weather. Good coverage on most of the upper mtn. The snow was pretty sticky, especially down low. Runs with bumps were so soft.
Made 5 runs off the Metro Quad on the tandem skis. The top 1/2 of the trail was nice and fast but down lower the snow got stickier and the huge surface area under the 274cm x 240mm skis made for a bit of a slowdown. Still fun to ride on. We had to each wear one ski onto the lift since walkons were not allowed. The rear binding was set for my foot so I had to ride the lift with 6 feet of 1x6 maple plank up in the air in front of my foot. Quite a quad burner . I'll have some pics and vid once I get them off my camera.

Right back at you LD. Always a pleasure skiing with you man. I think you were right, that was the best run of the year.

Though austin and I came pretty close on spacewalk on sunday. Steep and gnarly all weekend!

    More pics soon..

So wish I was there for that! Cannot believe nuefox and crew did not go back esp. considering all that effort to set the booter. It sure is going to be there awhile! Soo good. Well done.

skipped out on several more ambitious plans due to friends bailing and my ankle still not at 100%

met up with a buddy who can't currently cross the border or operate a motor vehicle.. so options were limited. still found some TASTY corn at Sutton. And end-of-season beers were also enjoyed

Ankle sore from the uphill.. but feeling great on the downhill. SO GOOD to be back on skis after 3 weeks

great stoke y'all... wish i coulda been on george but it was probably better to stay local

Great to see everyone earning turns.

I opted for lifts at Jay. Big weekend in Montreal on Saturday and Sunday after that daytrip to Jay. Left Montreal past 11pm and I got home at 1am. I should repeat this MTL trips for the next few weekend.

For those looking for lifts, here is the Monday morning rundown. 10-5 = 5

    Five ski areas still spinning.

Ended on Sunday: Smokey, Le Valinouet, Saddleback, Sunday River, Wildcat
    Weekends only : MSS, MSA
    Everyday? Loaf, Jay, Kmart

Details, impression on thoughts in here:

That booter must have been fucking awful to set. I think Neufox must secretly love setting suffer booters though seeing that he winded the thing all around instead of just going straight up airplane. But yeah, having that thing already set definitely gave Drew and I an extra GG run. Thanks guys!

Cool pic. My form looks pretty good.... if a was a tele skier

Spacewalk is such a freakin' sweet run. Not much else holds such a pitch for a few hundred feet of vert. Definitely one of the best on Washington, IMO.

Definitely a cool shot for showing the pucker factor. And once it gets above 45 degrees good form goes out the window and the only things that matter are not falling and successfully link turns. Well... and after yesterday not hitting rocks and flipping upside down.

well sure looks like you were bringing it before you tweaked the back!
    hope it's feeling better today.

great skiing with JGB, lumpy gravy and dowork and T and the non-mags i rode with over past few days.

on a season with few bell-to-bell sessions, i bagged 3 over past few days.

saturday nite the temps failed to go below freezing...it was 61F in rutland around 9:30am sunday...

the mountain had nearly returned to its pre-storm coverage by sunday afternoon, but for a few days it was winter, and for a few more days it was the spring for a season that hadn't actually happened...and it felt like we were all out a kirkwood or mammoth.

next few days will be interesting...hopefully things hold together!

Bumps, steeps, corn = sweet stoke all around!

The temps are looking warm but in this crazy ass season who could say that George wouldn't get another 2 feet in may.

Harvey put up a nice article on the NYSkiblog today, this plattekill local Elaine Supp won the boardercross out in Copper. I remember hearing her talk about going over there and it never crossed my mind again. Maybe local should be in quotes, because like many of us, she travels three hours each way to get to the hill every weekend. Unlike many of us, she has actual talent.

I couldn't be more happy to see an EC'er and snowboarder representing for us out there. So fucking cool.

TR coming soon from the Chics.

.....I hope you know that this will go down on your permanent record
