strawjack- I am now below you, magic snow and magic posts. Bring the whole family, I have been running a ski hostel this year anyway Seriously no harm meant, not like I am shrouding lines in secrecy, I have been fielding a constant stream of EC roll callers coming up and looking for some turns. Some hit it good some dont, we have been getting the rain and warm as well, just luckily getting decent snow on the front and back ends also. I am stoked to do it, although my bank account is starting to suffer...

Today was classic MRG. Lines weren't terrible at all, snow was sketchy in spots, great in others, with just enough subterranean breakable crust lurking 6" down in the woods to keep you on your toes. Chutes and drops were just in enough to be contemplated, sketchy enough to be very technical. Had tons o' fun shredding with Ml242, Ripvan, and a non-mag friend, who was just breaking in the 197 Katanas he picked up from me...and KILLIN it. Kid's a maniac. I hacked my way down some fun lines, bounced off some rocks and one birch tree, and generally enjoyed myself greatly. plus, took the toddler up the double for his first big chairlift run using the harness instead of skiing between my skis, and he straight slayed it. Stopped twice the whole way down, and shouted "Daddy Daddy I want the POWDER snow!" the entire time.

Buttah, keep it up, otherwise Ullr might just decide that low-snow is acceptable to us. In the meantime, we'll keep making the lemonade.

Steaux was good fun today with the gf. Things are skiing surprisingly smoothly and still lots of good snow to be found out there. Woods are doing (relatively) well at least higher up - lower down (like the last pitch on AF down to the road), could certainly use some snow. Hooked up with Bushwacker for a fun run at the end of the day, some great pow higher up, not quite as much lower down heh. Maybe some pics later on...

Bottleman- looks terrible! Might have to join the country club sometime this weekend, not sure I'm ready to deal with weekend stowe crowds yet.

TC- killer, as per norm. I tried to give you a shout but got sent straight to yer voicemail. Next time though, definitely gotta meet up in the notch.

Weasel- Glad to hear MRG is doing well, I can't wait to get out there. Maybe after this coming storm... And quite surprised to hear of not huge lines out there today. Woulda thought with cheap tix it woulda been outrageous, but cool.

Where have I been all these years? First Heady Toppah evah tonight and by God it's good. (GO PATS!!!!!) Glad to hear that fun was had at MRG - was not trying to be Debbie Downer but merely realistic about the snowpack and from Weasel's description it sounds as if we are on the same page. Still my favorite hill in the northeast but over the years I have been more conservative (broken bones will do that to ya) and do a better job of picking and choosing my spots. I loved bouncing off rocks and trees back in the day but I'm content to ski da Bowl until things fill in a bit more.

Finally, a couple of pics from Utah. Not very representative of the awesomeness that it was. But not much photog talent among the bunch.

Video triage happening now. May have something to fit into a highlights video by the end of the season.

Oh pfft pow and skiing and shit, pheh

I went for an absolutely wonderful and therapeutic BIKE RIDE today It was 40-60 degrees depending on aspect, the ground was mostly firm and great traction was the rule until the sun got high enough to melt the surface frost then it got greasy in a big hurry. What a way to spend a midwinter day

Noice! Looks glorious. MRG wasn't that fluffy, but definitely came through on the stoke factor.

Awesome shots HA/TC!! Next time, we shall meet up...

    Now, as promised earlier...

Bushwacker enjoying some day late pow.

    Non-mag K enjoying the pow.

    Actually, Bushwacker prefers it deeeeep.

Sometimes I get a little narrow minded...

But really, it's hard not to with so much pow on the mind!

There's a few more on my site for those who care.

And right on cue the forecasts for pow town is withdrawn. Really? Again? Could the weather folks learn to shut the fuck up until there is real hope please! If there is. Those who are blessed with flexible work schedules are doing okay at least in this neck of the woods but... Really? Fuck! Why do you tease? At this point I'd take open single tracks to shred over a shitty low snow thwackfest that is 11/12. I got to say it's got me a bit concerned. Will my kids even have opportunity to become skiers?

    Sick photos by the way.
Don't count on much leftover, the locals are restless and systematically anaihilating any pow left behind.
If this freezing bullshit in the forecast doesn't finish it off I will. Sorry.

Always nice to come on here and see some soft snow pics after getting worked by rock hard bumps at Sunapee.

41.2` and rainy this first of February. Not such a great start, lets see what Punxsutawney has to say tomorrow.
Sad to see the 7 forcast of high pressure that is about to grace us, guees I'll just keep working.
Good seeing so many out skimming the cream. I bailed out of work yesterday to hit the hill and looked for but did not see Surface Whore. Found a few good lines mid mountain that had been overlooked proving I do not need to drive an hour and a half to ski da powpow.[winky]

After some quiet skiing [maybe 75 poeple around] I went to Mad River to join ML242 and his buddy S drinking some beers and listening to the Starline Rhythm Boys. Place was still rocking at 6:30 when we left.
