Glad to hear Smuggs at least stayed all snow on top. Might have to hit my friend up for some mid week free tickets.

Definitely will & while I like your thinking, Mrs & little dude have some stuff to do in CT this weekend - so I'll be without wife & child

Not sure when you're headed to the far east, but I know the Mrs snagged a condo @ Smuggs from a co-worker the week before presidents day - hopefully the little guys will get a chance to play then.

It poured on top for about an hour, hard rain. Then was kind of in and out, we were thinking it was a good thing to pack in some of the nooks and crannies.
People should learn endurance; they should learn to endure the discomforts of heat and cold, hunger and thirst; they should learn to be patient when receiving abuse and scorn; for it is the practice of endurance that quenches the fire of worldly passions which is burning up their bodies.

^^ nice thanks for the report. new snow today and next few days should fill things in nicely, coming down pretty steady, base solid now.
JGB- Sweet, may have to put Lars in day care then for a few hours so we can all get out. I leave the 4th back on the 20th most likely

Hey guys, just wanted to drop in and show you what I'm dealing with here. Torture, I say. Every time I look up from my computer screen, this is what I have to see.

These Worths are freakin gorgeous! Sorry for the horrible iPhone pics, but I am about to ask PJ to hake some artsy ones this weekend for the full review. These baconators are the response/carbons and I got a chance to ski the power/glass ones last weekend so looking forward to being able to compare them directly for everyone once I get my turntables on 'em.
BTW Worth peeps, everyone from the UPS guy to the maintaince people to random customers are drooling, so just wanted to pass that compliment along. I think you guys are onto something

^^ nice !! Glad to hear the accolades, let me know when you ski them. When I ditched a ski this weekend in the trees from a pre release it was so much easier to find it 10 yards down the hill with those pink bases glowing in the pow.

Will post over in tech talk but would like some opinion here, at least while its too windy too ski.
Few weeks ago I was asking around for someone to help my brother re-drill a pair of Mantras, well he decided he would hit a shop off of RT3 near Hingham instead (depending on how the situation works out I will get the name of the shop.) Well long story short they set the toe pieces off to the side of the ski, he took them to another shop and they did a full safety test and determined that they are definitly not safe to ski as they release way to easy on one side and that they cannot be drilled again for boot sole center so they are shot (helicoils maybe?). He returned to the shop that f'ed up and the owners are out of town till Friday. Tech who mangled them said they will work something out, who knows what?
Any insight from the community would be much appreciated, I am saying he demands new skis, but what are the odds of this. I know this happened a bit earlier to someone else but if your bored at the office would appreciate some insight

Can your bro get a copy of the release test data from the second shop? He should definitely demand new skis, helicoils are good and fine and if i botched a mount i'd use them, but had the tech explained that there'd be extra holes and epoxy and helicoils and hassles involved with mounting his skis, i'm certain your bro would have opted to go somewhere else for the mount.
i might have said this before, but owner should be reminded that a large online community of dedicated skiers is watching to see how things are resolved.
and lastly it's likley a good time for your brother to order up some bits and start doing his own mounts. i started doing my own after the last couple of shop mounts disappointed (and an earlier mount had heelpiece rip out of my ski early on first run...forcing me to hike down 1200 ft of huge bumps!). i've since mounted a dozen or so skis without a single issue. it's a matter of caring and being careful more than anything...

Figure it'd be good to x-post here as I'll be heading north tomorrow & could coordinate delivery in Vt on Fri, Sat or Sun if anyone is interested.

Awesome pics from all, you've got my vote NEK, good luck.
I live about 1/4 mile from the lake and have seen and tried to get a decent pic many times, without success, of the cloud bank that forms when the water is much warmer than the air in late fall/winter.
