It all failed because I negated those offerrings by buying a snowblower.

I think okemo has recently managed to open up a bunch of terrain... and their snowmaking/grooming is top notch, IMO. Guess that's what counts so far this season.....
Their terrain is mellow and it's definitely not gnar, but you might get some good laughs at the gapers there. One of the two days I've been there this year I saw a kid put his skis on while still on the cement, and proceed to walk up a set of metal grate steps... Yea, that was one of the better gaper moments I've seen in a while...

^^ I'm heading out there in early Jan... For both your sake and mine, I hope it starts snowing out there (as well as in VT!!)... they've had a rather snow-less early season, and unlike the east, 2 ft of base isn't gonna cut it.

We do all appreciate your willingness to sacrifice for us east coasters! It's a tough sacrifice, but someone's gotta do it.

You'll have a hard time coming back. Where are you staying?

I'm really hoping to have the chance to do another season out there next year.

That mountain needs 50-60" in some places before it's skiable. I seem to recall your username being similar to a guy who posted some neat vids to yourtube... Was that you? And if so, can I have a copy of the one with Gothic Couloir in it that seems to have been removed (set to Glitch Mob, Drive it Like You Stole It)?

I think snow tires might be a one shot thing. We were skiing in MA on Halloween 2 weeks after I through my snows on.

Though we might just be locked into the holiday pattern. Everyone is going to plan for nothing to happen and get stuck in family Christmas events when it does dump.

Looks like I arrived a little late to this pity party, but part of it is because I don't frequently check ECRC anymore because of the constant spamming. And I know maggots who refuse to ever read or post in here because of it. Over the last couple of seasons I've had to sift through the constant photo posting by petrics and the banter between him and rog on ECRC just to find the stoke and the good stuff. I'd check the thread in the morning, and by night it would be bumped 5 or 6 pages deep between the two of them. It was frustrating to say the least. For the record, I have no issues with him, only with the attitude and spams he brings to the community.

Here's my take on what's been said so far.

I too miss the FIS stoke, but FIS stoke hasn't been around for like 2 years now. Those guys moved off the EC and it was just down to Petrics and Lionel. Petrics posted more than most, as far as stoke goes though, that's debatable. Petrics posts as of late were waterfalls, leaves, and his gf. Hardly stoke if you ask me.

If you compare the people he made happy with stoke vs. the people he pissed off, I would bet the scales are tipped in favor of the latter. His look at me attitude, taking pictures of anything and everything he did was annoying at best. He alienated himself, and the look on people's faces when you mention his name usually aren't positive.

As far as bullying goes, give me a break. We're not school age kids who don't know any better. We're adults. If you're constantly rubbing people the wrong way, than you need to realize that and change your behavior and attitude. Bullying...nonsense! Nothing we've done or said falls into any definition of bullying. Someone being overly sensitive to reactions they brought upon themselves, yes; bullying, no.

FIS's trip reports were some of the best. But those haven't been around in a very long time. Most of what we've seen as of late is Petrics crying look at me, look at my photos, look at me skiing. We get it, you're a good photographer and a good skier. You just don't need to constantly remind us of that by posting things. Stoke isn't stoke if it's pictures of everything you do.

Exactly! The whole look at me attitude put a sour taste in a lot of people's mouths, and quite frankly most people on here could do without that. TR's a great, posting of photos of a fun day on snow are great too. Posting photos of everything you do, and always trying to 1 up everyone is something we can all do without.

Random EC skier: Look at my TR, I skied 6,000 ft of vert with 14" of pow.
Gpetrics: NO, look at my TR, I skied 6,050 ft of vert with 16" of pow, and I repelled in too. That makes me better than you!

If you want people to appreciate your stoke, you need to appreciate theirs.

Just so everyone is clear on what bullying is, as outlined by law that schools have to adhere to:

"Harassment, intimidation or bullying" means any gesture or written, verbal or physical act that is reasonably perceived as being motivated either by any actual or perceived characteristic, such as race, color, religion, ancestry, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, or a mental, physical or sensory handicap, or by any other distinguishing characteristic.

I'm pretty sure he doesn't fall into any of those categories.

    perhaps the operative term was:
    1. ButtHurt 1905 up, 221 down

An inappropriately strong negative emotional response from a perceived personal insult. Characterized by strong feelings of shame. Frequently associated with a cessation of communication and overt hostility towards the "aggressor."
