[rant] General EC conditions across the board.....

Hard, fast, icy, with some sugar on the sides, limited terrain and lots of penguins to dodge. In short....crap

Now that we all know the conditions on every hill north of Virginia we can all stop beating it to death until we actually get snow.

Man this weather is really irritating me. "&(;($@?/-(&""!!!!*}€|*]?••

    [\end rant]

I'm going out on a limb and calling for big storms soon, X-mas, then New Years.

We're on the Holiday plan again this year. VTF- Save the keg for New Years Day...

^^^ adding to the rant WTF's with all the adults sporting fluffy colorful prehistoric animal appendages and the like on their helmets??

i can just imagine them in front of the mirror at home:
"everyone on the mountain will know what a wild and crazy guy i am"

it must be a deep seated awareness that the helmet is just for looks because
a.) these folks can't possibly take risks on skis
b.) the vewwy thought of hurting that cute wittle decowation on their lid by actually utilizing the helmet as a helmet would be simpwy heartbweaking

i suggest these fools hit the mountain with a fruitbasket or an icecream cake on their lids.
at least there would be some snacking to do on the godawful WROD lift lines

yes, it feels better to rant a little.

then there's the ass-brained lifty regarding my axioms:
"those things are like two snowboards"
wow, that kind of thing was unoriginally annoying 5 years ago...

dude's eyesight clearly polluted by watching thousands of carving skis go by day after day...

ok, now let's have that big-ass storm cycle to chase away the ice skating, cake or fruitbasket heads already!

Had a great season on the EC with tons of pow days and 2 great trips out west to Colorado and Utah. Think the final edit came out well but any additional feedback and commentary would be greatly appreciated (as i just started learning FCP X).

A few disclaimers before you watch -- Mostly all POV, no overhead blower pow, def a bunch of cliffs and drops but no 50 footers.

Thanks for taking a gander and be sure to switch over and watch it in 720HD.

    great stuff, and nicely presented.
watching, i can almost remember what soft natural snow looks and feels like...

If I didn't have 5 pairs of skis already....

I had a pair of these a few years back when I lived in Syracuse and spent most of my tme on 700 foot hills...2 turns and that was all she wrote. Pretty brutal in moguls and anything but groomers but if you had room to let 'em run...

hiked up magic early afternoon with the lady today, place is hurting for snow right now. Snow from the top down to trick and then the part of the hill where they hold races(name escapes me now). Came down wizard which was nice. A little windy at the top but overall a good way to spend the day.

No real snow out of this one although it was white out for a bit last night while drinking and high fiving high anxiety off to the first installation of his Mammoth season.

Mt wash calling for 4" of wet snow to stick to things, out of this slop tomorrow, with potential for more. Checking the cog on Thurs see if any turns are worth it. Looks like more rain for the rest of us.

20.2` and a fluffy 1/2" of new snow at the base of the bush, get after it! What's with the Canadiens fans? Their record sucks and they are going to boycott merch because the interim coach does not speak French? Get a grip and win a few games.

Happy first day of winter and also Happy Hanakkuh!

TC - Might have to amend my Thursday plan and head north depending on how this storm plays out up there...at this point it looks like the best chance to avoid mostly liquid. Hopefully the temps stay lower than expected and the j cloud can do its thing.

Ugh, bummed to hear that. Hopefully they can get some terrain open for the holiday week. Temps don't look too good for the next few days though.

I wouldn't expect less from the habs fans. For an original 6 team they really have no class. Half the team doesn't speak French who cares about the stand in coach. They won't raise lord Stanley's cup any time in the near future.

Maybe Hanukkah Harry will bring some goods for the next 8 days!

Well the snow is there, it just needs to get spread out. Connecting 6-8' McSnow whaleback piles from top to bottom with fan guns blowing hard all weekend 24/7. Was a nice noise to hear from the porch in the morning though and very cool to see the snow clouds floating out from the shadows of the mountain while driving down 11. Believe me, I asked an obnoxious amount of questions this weekend while I was hanging out with snowmaking crew and they say there's a very VERY large base up top and the rest is about to get spread out- so the majority of the snowmaking is already done, or at least enough to get the trails skiable and above par for last year with grooming and they're just topping off more or less and widening. I would say barring any major weather events beginning with the letter R we should be good for the holidaze. Snow Team 6 is all over it and I'm told they won't be denied.

It's pretty clear we need real snow- like from the sky- but they are kicking ass over there and thank gawd as I think I'd rather ski UMC->Trick->Wand->Showoff than hop on a plane to utah right now. I just miss the hell out of riding the red chair and nothing else does the job quite like it. My life just won't be right until I get out on it again.

I would be in for that. Hope smuggs survives it too. Actually starting to build a natural base on the mountain, snowing now still. Would be great if the forecasted sun did not come out and kept snowing through tomorrow.
