ok, re-setting my ski-season-repeat-performance-brainwaves to 06-07. that must have been the problem!

yea, read LH's post about a major upslope event this morning.
glad i bagged plans to ski today and will save the mid-week day off for better times...

TC, not sure here you heard about major upslope? See about an inch or so falling tonight which would be good as the coldest night so far is coming Sat. that could help us freeze the ground before the possible storm Wed. We need some consistent cold to get frozen ground this year and the bush needs it for thier pathetic snowmaking system that will need 5-6 days to "refresh" the current boring intermediate 1 way down nevermind open more interesting terrain.
Guess we will see what happens, potential is there. You just keep ignoring the snow fall and I will keep sending pics of me skiing pow Snowing here now. Looking better.

Those who are still going to Magic for the Party Saturday - where are you skiing Sunday?

The whites look like they are getting decent upslope precipitation.

What the fuck is up with the TGR maleware bullshit again?

Platty is opening this weekend... The rope tow with free beginner lessons.
Hopefully they can pump some out this week for a Christmas Eve opening.
I've gotta burn my warrior dash voucher before the 23rd so will probably be at Windham Sunday working off tomorrow's christmas shopping hangover.

DW, that bike would have much more value if you'd ease up on burnouts in the garage.

What ever is open in Southern VT will be rock hard and crusty. 40 degree temps today + 20 degree temps all weekend = icy. I was going to go to Okemo but am questioning if its worth the drive and lift ticket $.

    HOLY SHIT..........

this morning was insane at the wall. solid head high with overhead sets. pulled up at 7am and couldn't believe my eyes. equivalent to the best of pow days with zero competition. due to the size/power and hollowness of the waves, i set the 5'9" rocket as a thruster and made very easy work of the waves. the offshore winds were brisk, but straight outta the west and allowed you to take off behind the peak as the wind would hold the lip up nicely to give you the hall pass to have yer way with the face in any way you chose.

we had a nice crew of friends all surfing on lost boards theis morning. brian and i on rockets, aaron on his shark, chris on his rnf quad, his son tyler on his new stealth, and a couple of others. a VERY well known surf photographer pulled up as i was getting out of the water and he starts frantically taking pictures saying that this was the wall at it's finest, classic. unreal

sessions like these leave me in a complete daze. warm all over. stoked.

edit: will someone add some top page stoke of choice? me too dumb to embed.

eug and ml242, thanks for adding stoke. It was fucking nasty today at 3600', honking winds, swinging cabins (and not in a good way) and sideways precip of all types.

Hopefully we will see shots like this real soon.

Haven't checked in a bunch of days. I've been getting a warning that going onto tgr could ruin my computer. Now it's gone. Weird.

    tbatt - nice pics.

VTsession - Eaglecrest Ski Area, Juneau, AK

Reganized - That's great. I agree. You will like the new crew running things, they are good people.

TC - go Lars! bridger liked the pics.

That movie is interesting the first two minutes. Then it's pretty good. Guys kinda nuts.

water temps are running around 48 degrees. pretty warm for this time of year. air temp was 50 with sun when i got out of the water at 930am. not too tough to take for mid december. i was so inspired by the beautiful weather and beach scene that i sported flip flops to work today. mounting skis wearing flips is the shit. i've actually only worn shoes like 5 times since may.

thanx for the awesome stoke ML!!! had a nice visit with lynchy today. he brought by those sweet dps 99's for me to check out. liked the flex a lot, nice pop, but are in need of some metal in em

did black sleeves get out after school strawjack? maybe some leftovers in the a.m. folks at work were asking me if i was ok after my surf this morning as i looked like i was off in some other world (more than normal). after i explained, they kinda "got it"

let's see, what else i got from the r-blog.........ummmmmmm, holy smokin hotties coming into the store today, eh mark?!fkna.

Yeah, I was getting a little nervous there. Firefox was not liking the site at all. I was hopeful for today, but it sounds like it was shitty on the snow front.

Ok, before I start ranting, thanks all for the congrats - it feels fkna great to finally be done with school!

    Now, on to the ranting.....
WHAT THE FUCK, MOTHER NATURE?! Really? REALLY?!?! STOP BEING A BITCH!
I decided to head out to the rivah last night to finally check it out today. I was hoping that at least a bit further north, they'd have a few more ribbons open for the ripping.. So we spent the night in gorham and woke up to ripping winds. And of course, rippings winds = wind hold.. Like, the entire mountain (save the beginner lift). Not wanting to pay $50 for a few beginner ribbons, we bounced outta there.... Did manage to hit up trout river on the way back (damn fine imperial stout they've got there), and am now in waterbury, where it was flurrying a bit ago... Suppose I'll be braving the crowds on the icy few ribbons they'll have open tomorrow.

FUCK THIS WEATHER! I finally have a season to truly ski bum and this is how it starts out? Greeeeeattt..........

Guess I'll be brining my fly fishin gear home with me when I head south for the holidaze..... Pretty tempted to hit up the otter, for that matter, but I'm not sure there's enough time for me to do that...

That's a fine rant there Akok. I am so busy working I've not worked up a good one yet.

Was laying in bed at 5am and heard a snowplow go by. With some optimism looked out and saw a measly 3/4" had fallen, not even enough to cover the leaves fully. We got about 5/8" yesterday morning then the sun came out and melted it. Wind was blowing retard strong again and took 10' off the top of a red maple. Very calm right now.

ML that vid was supa entertaining, had to watch it twice.

Bucket thanks for the discs, the Genesis is so clear

not much real estate covered, no new snow in sight, and shitty ass air to breathe. will probably dump like the dickens come january.

part of my daily morning read: http://utahavalanchecenter.org/advisory/slc love bruce's last line of mt weather portion

little waves this morning. coulda, woulda, but drinking coffee in bed won. this time.

But as they say, suffering is caused by attachment and desire. So just enjoy what comes your way.

Truth, that. Having a good time out on the road/mtn bike until the snow comes this way. Bundle up, but roads are still dry.
