    wasn't ' 01 epic?
or was it '00/'01 vs '01/'02...I remember enormous epicness, just not the fine details..

wtf happened to the side bar with snow totals across the country?

fwiw, I received a spam Whistler vacation offer stating "Third Snowiest Nov on Record"

I especially like the mini mag riding up at the bush with the view of castlerock in the beginning. How did that happen?

You guys want to talk about skiing, I'll talk. I skied fake snow groomers all day. I was indeed the best skier on the mountain because everyone at Windham snowboards. Well, there were some old people on carving sticks that couldn't carve. And some tele dudes. I could smell them.

Anyway, there was this HUDGE cliff band that I crushed about fifty times.

PM me if you'd like an autograph.
.....I hope you know that this will go down on your permanent record

WTF is going on with the weather? It's like Ullr and Mother Nature are going through a nasty divorce and taking it out on the kids. Please be amicable and give your kids some snow already (and colder weather so at least we can make snow). Thank you!

Out in Breck right now on business. Took some runs for a few hours today and I must say they're hurting as bad as (maybe even worse than?) we are. Literally a few inches of snow on the ground, and a handful of groomers coated with McSnow. Rode the lift with an employee who said at this time last year they had 150".

It better start dumping when it finally snows.

Oh and does anyone have a cure for altitude headaches? Going from sea level to 10,000 ft today and then skiing/bootpacking has left me with a splitting headache. I've been guzzling water, just took a nap, and took ibuprofen, but wondering if there's a miracle cure/remedy. This sucks.

My friend the heli guide recommends two things: 1) climb high, sleep low, 2) smoke hash, it will help you acclimatize.

Age. It's one of those things that actually goes away as you age. I used to get it at Alta, but no more.

When I crossed from Golmud China into Tibet at 17k+ ft they said to eat bread and carbs. So I did and it worked for me as well as lots of water. But I was more out of breath then hurting.

Forecast looking good for more snow on top of what we got. Stoked for the weekend.

Thanks guys. I am staying in Breck at 10k feet till Saturday, so going lower isn't an option, but I'm hammering back the water and carbs, so hopefully it'll improve.

TC, I hope your effect kicks in and we finally get some storms rolling through. Keep doing whatever it is that you do.

You been boozing it? Try to hydrate all day rather than all at once. It'll pass... your blood's adjusting as we speak. Last year was an epic early season everywhere so we just need to be patient. And in the meantime, if you want snow drive southwest

Just moved out here from back east this past summer so I feel your pain about the altitude...

Crank - When I was at Breck I remember seeing a few quickie marts out there that sold pills for altitude sickness. Not sure if they work but might be worth a try.

TC. its just the wind thats warm.

the frustration with the weather is easily explained, for years we have been experiencing sliding on snow/mcsnow/shit snow/whatever, your brain gets wired to the timeline of foliage drop, sun angle, etc. the pain you experience now is merely the re working of the neurons in your skull, its no different than the difficulty you have trying to wipe your ass with the wrong hand

    still hiking season up here

    nice pics tbatt

I was out there for 4 days last spring and it kicked my ass the first 2 days. Hydrating did me good, and eating an apple made me feel great. Maybe it was timed with dropping in elevation, or a rush of sugar and carbs, but it made me feel a lot better.

^^^ thanks SJ really want to get him used to the up at an early age, and are you making those shirts? I would buy one.

KT- yeah like tradewinds warm down in the Carribean. But this is the EC we are known for our hardened resolve, letting one banner season spoil us is whats happening. Cant expect anything, got to ski it when it drops. Fly Rod is still out.

Was thinking about it, but its supposed to snow up here, if that changes I may head down there. Alternatively, He can give it ML242 and when ML comes to the bush we can get it from him?
