I haven't been following the thread that closely lately, but Smuggs is the new Magic? Also, what kind of underwear is everyone wearing this year?
Sorry, going through ski withdrawal. If anyone wants to pick me up I'm down to ski wherever in the Catskills this weekend. Also, if anyone wants to take the day off work I think midweek will actually be pretty fun and I'm happy to drive on Wednesday / Thursday. And hopefully it will dump some lake effect on us | ullr be praised......I hope you know that this will go down on your permanent record

ML will be at Hunter in the am traveling through Roxbury... Everything i hate about skiing will probably be in full force but desperate times call for desperate measures. If you decide to make the trek i'll have the dankest green jacket and a red soft shell helmet. If nothing else, have a safety meeting with us, i like your efforts at Plattekill. Wish i could have helped (wife's family issues(so supportive of me)) but gonna warn ya, i'm gonna snake those trees all season on ya!!

You missed out on a good day at Platty. You might have more than ML to answer too! It's all good I hope the efforts can continue. Hopefully we can get to enjoy that soon. The safety meeting spot is off the double!
Get out there and enjoy. Everyone have a good a safe weekend

If anyone needs someone to vouch for NJFS, I'm happy to. I'm pretty sure that those also come with a race tune, edge bevels your choice.
Unkajunebug - let us now how Hunter is. Pretty amazing that they just started making snow on Thursday morning and they'll be T2B tomorrow. I'm going to head up this Thursday if anyone wants to go. They should have a bunch open by then, and the week after all of West.
As far as Plattekill goes, it'd be awesome to have some help next time but enjoy the glades this winter. I don't care about sharing there, the snow sits around all week and you can't track out the place on a powder day as it is. I'd still head there if they sold twice as many tickets, I doubt it would change the conditions much on a pow day.
We might have to trade a few stashes though! Do you have a pass there?
Edit to add: Big Daddy with the Jesus and Mary Chain TOP! Nice and unexpected!!!!Last edited by ml242; 12-10-2011 at 04:22 PM.

Well - Kmart kind of blew today - half the terrain and three times the people vs. what they had on Thxgvng. They had gotten about 2" overnight, which prettied things up but did not really contribute to the base. Things got quite dire around 11 am as everything got scraped off and certain trail junctions became impassible due to gaper congestion. At that point, the best conditions were found on trails which were not open. Still decent day though - it feels like the old legs are coming up to speed. it looks like they are planning to open Skye Peak tomorrow, hopefully that would improve the picture.
I am really hoping that other places open meaningful terrain especially given that this is the last weekend on the 2-for-1 deal at Kmart.
