oh great, then it'll be annoyingly cold...........and still brown ground.
light drizzle here in new-mar-shay. warm. still some surf, but the tide doesn't really coincide with my work schedule today, plus i'm fucking absolutely shelled from the past 5 days out. painful to lift a coffee mug this morning. love that.
there's always tomorrow.........

i agree that the closest thing to skiing in ny right now is getting a beer with some people from the board. i have "out of the shadows" on my phone.
so warm out there i ran in just a light base layer and shorts and was fully sweating- must have been 60 at 6:45IF YOU SEE SOMETHING, SKI SOMETHING

crazy weather. my own seasonal clock confused.
slept with bedroom window wide open - in complete comfort...and have had very vivid skiing dreams the past two nites. those usually stop happening once daytime skiing commences!
on a positive note, the skiing was quite good last night...

Sorry for the anti-stoke but...
I just went for a bike ride on the trail I skied last week. Fun but ultimately depressing.

The good news is that our weather forecast does look promising (note: don't freak out, temps are in degrees Celcius).
"... Enjoy yourselves, keep your brain in your head and your head firmly attached to your body, the body active and alive, and I promise you this much: I promise you this one sweet victory over our enemies, over those deskbound people with their hearts in a safe deposit box and their eyes hypnotized by desk calculators. I promise you this: you will outlive the bastards." – Edward Abbey

Not sure if you're aware, but TGR actually has a Surf Forum. You know, for surfing talk and whatnot.

Where are the Virginia mags that want to hang out tonight in Richmond. Anywhere good to stay or hang south of dc? Just crossed the border of south Carolina from florida. Here's some east coast stoke from the camera phone:
.....I hope you know that this will go down on your permanent record

Could we please stop this type of snipping bullshit??? Some of us who follow EC RC enjoy the non skiing posts. I enjoy following Rog's surfing & biking adventures, used to enjoy LH's weather posts, as well as biking/hiking posts of others - in short reading EC RC provides entertaining pieces about various facets of the outdoor life we all enjoy - not to mention all I've learned from folks posting about places in the Northeast I haven't yet had a chance to visit and play in. I was particularly irked at Crank54 being bitched out a few weeks ago over his bike posting, especially after he went to the trouble of having change stickers made up and then mailed them out for gratis to anyone who asked (not to mention sending some up to BD for distribution at Ullrfest!)
I may be wrong here but I see EC RC in a bit different light from the main TGR forums, more of an online hangout among with the same kind of friendly vibe I found at Ullrfest this year (I just wish I remembered a bit more of it than I seem to
) rather than a place with strict rules and pissiness - we can find enough of this in our work lives. Mellow should rule here...

Well said, WWC. This is a very informal forum... and I hate all the snipping. Seemed like things were running smooth the last couple weeks. Rog can get monotonous (No offense... I surf, too!), but I just breeze over it if I don't want to read about it (or his sex life.) I like seeing it all... the kayak pics, baby stoke, motorcycles, mt bikes, etc.
That said, I think we need more surf bunny pics. And snow.Screw the net, Surf the backcountry!

Since gpetrics stopped posting it was inevitable that somebody eventually was going to be the fall guy. Haha.
Personally, this sarcasm / snipping or whatever you call it is so uniquely East Coast I would not want it any other way.
When it get's personal or down right offensive, racial, etc. is where I draw the line.
As a good friend, climbing partner who moved to Durango 11 years ago said to me not too long ago ... "I miss the EC sometimes because nobody out here get's my sarcasm". I say deal with it or ignore it and move on. I like all the extra info and activities.
Liking the cold temps up North! I do miss LH and wish he would come back! Now I gotta go visit him else where or search for weather ... it's a lot of extra work. What's this week going to bring? The Passion is in the Risk

Rog's daily surfing updates are tolerable, except when it's 60`, raining and a week into December. Right now the only things i want to see are tits, snow and an ms paint map.

to my Skinny ski wearing EC brethren,
Sorry about giving Rog shit for his surf posts. Sometimes I just find his incessant need to brag incorrigible, or perhaps I am just jealous he is still surfing and I'm now 12 hours from a fucking ocean.
Either way, the ECRC thread has lots of stoke and camaraderie going for it, and I certainly don't want to be a wet towel, so I plan on shutting up and letting sleeping dogs surf.
edit: 'rogblog out' IS hilarious.
