the fish pics are great. i couldn't sit still long enough to get into fishing, but i see the allure.

just banged out a lovely 60 miles on the cross bike to short sands beach in york maine and back. the VERY hilly rte 91 from south berwick to york never disappoints. the ride over was still fairly cool. riding back was a whole other story. hot, but very pleasant for a good sweat. had a good headwind on the way back too. gonna make a big bean breakfast that much more appealing.

may be some nice surf for the afternoon/evening. got the board and suit by the door!

    happy sunday, happy funday......

Little too much hype about the heat. Little hot in the open fields, but nearly perfect temps in the woods.

What time were you there? We parked in the lot at the ski area at 8:00 and rode across the street from the Brownsville Store. 12 mile ride, all up hill. WTF?

I rode my bike from Short Sands to Long Sands when I was about 10... all by myself! Some guy yelled at me for riding on the sidewalk.
seemed like a hike at the time.

we got there at 11:00. there were a few cars in the lot, at that point.
how's the riding on that side?
there was a trail day, up there yesterday.
we noticed a new offshoot on Gracies Loop, called crosscut 2.
    looked wicked fun.
    let's ride!

Hoping to settle somewhere between Bridgewater and Windsor in a couple of years. Will likely rent a place in the area next year as I transition my business to the Woodstock area.

Surface Whore and I were discussing a camping trip to Stab soon, I'll see how moving goes this week as to timing.
Weather early last week [much needed rain] cut my riding down to 4 days though the 3 day rest felt nice. Thursday was a slick moss slip fest. Cleaned out an old route from Old Mossy > River Run as I always liked this challange and no one had ridden it in years.

Saturday was 84` with a 25-30mph breeze blowing, sorry Tbatt, not too hot to ride. Out with Surface Whore and JB for a 3 hour Denny fest. Pace felt great and the constant breeze was a blessing.
Surface Whore moving the toys back, people keep moving this stuff from where he put it 12 or so years ago.

Long spin on the Aprilia after Biaggis victory in the 1st WSB race and a 234 aprilia finish race two, 72` at 7pm and a nice ride out of the door, some trees blocking the trail

And a derocked rock garden [gotta make it easy breezy for the masses I guess

Should be nice after work tonight for a ride. [/endblog]

PM if you anybody is serious about doing a pig roast.

    As for the baked beans:
(Keys to the Kingdom to follow)
Start with dry beans and cook till they are about as done as they would be out of a can. (soak overnight, boil for about 90-120 minutes. No salt or that would make the beans tough).

    Then make the sauce.

    (i'm skipping volumes) ... it's to taste.

Start with jim beam brought to a high simmer, light it on fire to burn off some alcohol. Add molasses, honey, angostura bitters, cumin, cinnamon, cayenne pepper, wosteschire sauce and apple cider vinegar. simmer and reduce by about 1/3.

Add that to...(in a large bowl already combined...)

Ketchup, a1 steak sauce, dijon mustard, wosteshire, apple cider vinegar, tabasco style hot sauce Cumin, tumeric, salt, pepper, cinnamon and whisk to combine the reduced jim beam part and the ketchup based part. Let it cool.

Then add to that.. red onions cooked in a pan where you cooked off bacon and deglazed with apple cider vinegar. cover the beans in this sauce...bake...till beans are reall tender and starting to explode.

Feed to a party of people very hungry and sleeping in tents. Leave before the ass-plosions start.
Sweet - thanks for posting this. I'm gonna get to work on a batch of beens tonight.

I'm looking fwd to riding on a set of Humpbacks this winter. To decide the setup.... I may invest in a set of tele gear for next season. Any advice from the freeheelers on finding some used gear?

Finally a sport that Rog clearly knows nothing about . Fly fishing is anything but sedentary. Think down hiking 3 miles of gorge with gear. Moving the whole time throwing 3 casts to a plunge pool then on to the next.

Thanks all for fish comments. Seeking out the seldom known mountain streams and finding beauty natives is why I love fly fishing. Here are a few from a hike HA and I did on Friday down a gorge stretch that neither of us had been to before or even knew really existed. Got a new lens coming, better suited for these scenes. Been dealing with a single kit lens up until now.

For those of you not on Facebook....

Vermont artist and t-shirt screener extraordinaire Bo Muller-Moore has been hand screen-printing his signature Eat More Kale logo t-shirts in Vermont's Northeast Kingdom for years. Recently, fast-food giant Chik-Fil-A set their trademark attorney after Bo, claiming his Eat More Kale logo might confuse people because it is too similar to their "Eat mor chikin" advertising slogan. So far, the trademark office's initial response agreed. We think kale is pretty easily distinguishable from chicken. While I enjoy a kale chip here and there, I am not likely to grill it up, or marinate and kebob it on the 4th.

To show our support for this local artist and Defiant Dude, Worth is taking up the Eat More Kale cause as one of our WORTHY CAUSES. We worked with Bo to come up with a special EMK graphic. When you buy a pair of our skis with the EMK graphic, we will donate ALL of the after-cost proceeds to Bo's legal defense fund. You can support this local artist, and rock a pretty sweet-looking pair of skis to boot!

Lol.. Yeah except he's a teledoodler, so that would result in us both dying when our knees exploded like IEDs.
