Sat. started with a visit fromm BigDaddy, nice to see him in the valley. We sampled wood oven pizza from my friend Jones and BD got the "Golden Pig" award for his ability to scarf down teh slices. Nice to have edible pizza in town for a change.
Surface Whore and I spent 2 1/2 hrs flicking around in Dennyland, 20 years of riding there makes for a great time as it flows like water and is a great mix of twisty up and down. Skeeters are flocking right now look for breezy areas to stop.
The switchback climb in

Valley view 2, of course the edge of the grass is a 60' drop

Lots-0-hemlock forest to ride

Monaco GP is a crashfest as usual today. Weather is awesome today, hope everyone is out and about.

Worst late May coverage in Tuckerman I have ever seen.
Looks like "June 2012" like be the "new July"... I need to think of alternative plans (not that I was convinced I would get July at Tux this year).
The question is...how much is the 80-month ski streak (June is 81) worth spending or should I just let it die?
BTW, I'm still busy writing old TRs. Here is one from Killington twenty years ago. SuperNat gave me one picture at that time...sorry I don't have any more from that day, however my season wasn't over and they be more pics in my next retro TRs from the once mighty K.
T-shirt, sun, corn, bumps and straight 207s. That's the way it used to be...(does anyone have a time machine?)

Great TR PatSki.
I was probably up there too, just back from college with a couple weeks to kill before trying to find a job for the summer. Those were the days for K.
STAB was real nice Sunday morning. Didn't see too many bugs, even though I gave them plenty of time to catch up.
The weather today was a nice bonus. Just a few boats on the lake and the water has warmed up enough to enjoy some tubing with the kids (acting as human shields to keep your buddies honest with the speed).

Platty was fun as hell. Somehow missed Gravitylover... apparently mountain biking does not necessitate being in line for first chair. Of course, first chair is kind of meaningless at Plattekill anyway. Hopefully he got a 5pm watch pic because we had to bust out at 4!
Can't believe what a good time I had watching strangers hit the dirt. Wait, it was actually scary as fuck! Still, that's the best deck in the world and god bless whoever dropped off those huge ass heirloom tomatoes that went on my chicken parm.
Swimming in the lake, biking, hiking, climbing, summer. Still miss skiing but I'll just have to look at it like I have several cute and fun new gf's instead of one moody supermodel......I hope you know that this will go down on your permanent record

Love the George stoke. It's nice to see some snow again, even if I probably won't get over for it.
The riding has been great though, then the rains came. But that just means mushroom season kicks off in 5 ... 4 ... 3 ... 2 ...
A few bike pics from the last week.

Great bike stoke and good to see some ski stoke from goerge...
Looks like everyone had a great weekend and enjoyed themselves....
At the beach waves were ok and the water was much warmer than usual but still needed some covering.... picked up a new 3/2 hyperflex for $180 nice suit that usually runs high 2's if not just over 3......but then spent the memorial day afternoon in the ER getting stitches and ruining the nice buzz i had been working on... SUCKED.....but did get back after it when i got home..
Would be in for a mini MTNBIKE gathering ... just name the place and the time......would be good to have a camp ground near by with a lake for some swimming and beers when done riding.....
TC sorry i missed you down here..... BUt will be up soon for sure for some fishing and kayaking.....
Powbumps.. what lake is that??? wake baot or small power boat.. wither way boat sounds goodalways forward but never straight

Crikey, SoVt just got hammered. I got off the river with about 2 mins to spare. The wipers on my '72 Landy are useless to say the least. Long ass 4 mile drive home.

^^ Wow, looks cool, not that I'd ever do anything like that... you white water folks are nuts as far as I'm concerned.. I knew the Ausable was somewhat rowdy from my fishing out there, but never knew that it has such a canyon... damn.
Also, of interesting note, looks like there's a lot of land (>1100 acres) around Bolton's nordic/backcountry area that's up for sale, and the VT Land trust is trying to save it... they just need a cool $1M. Check it.
Good weekend, finally got into some nicer fish on the Black (the southern one, filled with hatchery goons) and the Battenkill, which is a pretty awesome place. Really dig the vibe of sovt in the summer, at least when it's not packed with Jersey goons... Def gonna have to head back there, although might be heading into the mts for some baby brookies this weekend. Bingo brook? We'll see... Just gotta get through the week, as I've finally started my time in the sad sad sad corporate world. Oh well, I'm still in VT so it's all good when all is said and done.
Rockin storms all around the upper valley today and last night - was woken up by the sound of hail and a carm alarm going off. Shits nuts, just glad that there weren't any tornados... that shit really is whack!
Sorry, I'm done blathering, keep calm and carry on all.

I'm not worry too much about June...as I'm hoping to hit MTW. Need to deal with stuff in Montreal ... stuff that should last until July 1.

^^^looks real interesting, however...trying not to burn so much money right now. I could stretch it to July and fly home? I also have a possible pathetic July option in the East.
When is Crystal last day? Is Alpental still running lifts or is it a skinning job?Ski Mad World

Man-O-Man sorry to hear that, hopes those fingers heal up. Not that This is what you were doing, but food for thought.
Bad weather resulted in 3 lightning strike house fires in Barre, no humans dead, 3 dogs lost in one fire. Extensive flooding in the Lowell vt.and southeastern areas of Vt and NH. Some douche was probably floating through backyards looking for propane bottles to salvage.
After 1 of the humids yesterday we are back to 64` and dry today. Riding tonight after things drain off today.www.apriliaforum.com

^^^ A really classy video from Plattekill. The downhill course was really fast and maybe a little lighter on airs than in years past, judging from the video. I tried my hand on the junior circuit course and still had to walk my bike down "one" section. I don't know how fast it looks to you guys, the best bikers on the mountain, but to me I felt alternating like a bug getting washed down a drainpipe or power mode pac-man just eating up roots and rocks more quickly than I could process.
This type of weather just kills me, it was great to have some make your own AC on the downhill and seeing the wildflowers and listening to birds was just unreal on the way up. I love the Catskills. And, hope this is ok to post, but vibes to Nolan up there... got into something with his ATV while working and I know they'd like to get him on the mend ASAP. Heal fast!
Bikerboarder - glad you're ok!

After looking at all these sweet mtb pics I think my spine is healed enough to get back out there. Looks like Platty is a schweet spot for some riding. I think this is the season I finally go biking there. Anyone want to do some riding?
