Rog, SURE you can't do Friday? I have to shoot a graduation Thursday night.
only way I could make it Thursday is if I a) got my sister to do the shoot for me or b) was leaving the PN visitor center around two.
Edit: 50-55 MPH winds? fawkthat. Friday sounds better..

of course i CAN do friday instead, but that would defeat my purpose of getting the cleanest canvas possible on thurs. the winds will be brisk but hardly terrible and like i said, they'll keep temps in the bowl nice and the bugs from eating you alive on the up and down.
another cool thing is how many folks can only go on friday for one reason or another. gotten a bunch of emails from friends that can only do friday as well. hmmm, i see a pattern here. yes a beautiful pattern that tells me i may have the place to myself on thursday
i'll probably be done by 2pm or so as i never get done much later.
only thing that could change my plans is if the surf looks to be decent all day. i may just stay for that and surf 2-3 sessions instead.
hmmmmmm.

It's official...

"Here's a Tuesday morning update - there is now a slight chance that we may get the repairs done to the upper mountain to enable us to open to the summit this Saturday, May 19. Underline slight chance... I normally wouldn't post any update this early in the week because it's so uncertain, but we're starting to get more questions and calls so this is the current situation. We need reasonable weather to get the repairs and paving done and the forecasts are indicating that we might get that. As always - operations are weather dependent."

All this talk of Heady Toppers is making me thirsty. A bar near my work got a single case of them in one day I was there. I had 2 and enjoyed every last sip. Since then, I can't find a single can around Boston.
I may move to VT just for the beer. Oh and the skiing too.

no worries, i took myself out of contention for george as well. i realize that i'm still not 100% and barely halfway through these meds, so more rest and close to home fun for me. surf is looking VERY promising for tomorrow as winds are swinging around. looking to get at least 2good sessions tomorrow with lots of sun and chillin in between. bringing both suits so i don't have to put a wet one on for round #2.
so fucking stoked for waves on my day off. man i haven't worked much lately
ciao lynch

Nice rudeness!
Looking a little chilly up there also Rog, with those winds might take a while to soften. Hoping Otto opens, Easties still look good from the wild cat web cam, plenty of turns worth the drive, for me.
I will be bringing the Worth demo fleet if anyone wants to check a pair out.

^^ yea rudeness, nice stoke on both counts.
good to see some patch skiing in play at jay.
hope car issues are settled.
me, i got out of work tuesday only to find my car missing.
got towed for the first time in well over a decade.
nearly broke my umbrella in disgust. long slog on foot to the garage at the edge of town.
$135 and i was back on the road (or the price of a tank of gas+a spring lift ticket+lodging or anything else more worthy!)
^^ hmm, gonna check out the webcam...though my season IS over
edit: yea, does look like there are still some big patches up there...auto road status still TBD for saturday morningLast edited by buckethead; 05-17-2012 at 09:23 AM.

twas not the worst day to stick around the seacoast.
waves were super fun and perfectly formed when i paddled out at 7am. donna and i had the place to ourselves for the 1st hour, then a coupla familiar faces showed up and many great waves and stories were traded. some party wave action with donna was really fun. i'd let her take off on her 9'6 joel tudor and get going right while i took off a bit deeper on the 5'9. i'd then get pumping and slowly reel her in and spook her from behind as she kicked out
too much fun.
the lefts were fucking insane. you could get MANY top to bottom spray throwing carves in before a very long fast pumping inside section right into shin deep water.
after a couple/few hours of that it was time to hit up the bagel shop down near the wall to chum it up with my fellow semi-retirees for a few hours in the sun before the afternoon session. as always some new recruits were pulled in to join. i was the 1st one to set up the outside table before other arrive. just as i sat down this very thin BABE walks towards the enterance with her cup in hand. never seen her before, but with out pause, i say, "you will be joining us this morning, yes?". she looks at me and smiles, "why yes, i wouldn't have it any other way"
(I shit you not)
well, now we have jo jo at the table, and before long it's a table of 9. and so the summer goes.......
god i fucking love summer
tomorrow, repeat of today, and so on, and so on......................
bet the bowl was nice today once the sun got at it. bet that road opens mid day tomorrow once the morning frost/ice on upper section thaws. maybe monday.

up high saturday sounds good, but i'll likely stay local.
rog, i'm gonna be raiding your waves with my river brethren sooner than later.. tabarnac!
(most quebec "surfers" only raid the surf shops =)

I was up high in the east snowfields last weekend and it was pretty good. We are planning on heading up there again on saturday and hoping the road will be open... Sounds like I might see some of you up there. We were also thinking about the great gulf if the roads open. Anyone been over there recently?

Looks like easties lost a bunch since 2 weekends ago. Gulf was done when we hiked past it. We checked all the late season lines AG, TC, SW all done. But if the auto opens I will be up there.

Would be great to bring the family if auto opens. But they are gone until Saturday night also thats why I want to make the auto trip. not sure Lars is ready for that hike. Hope he still fits in the pack, probably not though.
CTA posted this on their face book this week from race to the of Vermont last year. As you can see from the anguish on my face and his dangling legs we were pushing it last summer
