No, that is a special puddle that BM discovered on a back road. No fish is under 3lbs. I have hauled consistent monsters out of there like this one. Nice fishing Jeff!! Definitely getting back there soon.

I went by on Sunday on the way to Derby for a soccer game, from 105 things looked almost wall to wall and continuous probably 2/3 of the way down (haines looked to have better coverage with a few open patches showing higher up on jet) but hard to tell how far down you could really go from the road...I'm guessing yesterday's liquid did some damage though.

Friday is 50/50 for me at this point but def interested. Really would prefer to head to tux after seeing all the recent pics but the time suck that is involved round trip makes it damn near impossible for me during the week...still hoping for a window to make it before it's too late.

Bottle, TC - Sounds like a damn good puddle...I can keep a secret!

Cable rail, my idea for the clean look without vertical balasters dominating the front and they allow you to look through easily. Owner really happy with the railing. Upper Village road
Very nice! I thought I recognized the view. My employer built that house on 4 piers up there, as well as Timbers. (the year before I started) I was still living on German Flats at that time. That house looks great, nice job! Get that website going, it will help drive traffic your way for sure.

207 for myself. Lucky was on 200s.

I'm the one that took that picture. Luke didn't have a fancy camera, so the action shots aren't that clean. I'm just happy that he brought his, because you can have a good camera like I did, but it's useless when you forget it.

There are a few old outings that I'd like to take time to write. First trip to Killington in late 1984, first trip out West at Blackcomb in June 1988. Some Europe. Besides reposting TRs I've posted elsewhere on the internet. Almost done reposting from SA TRs.,

Nice old shots mad pat ski! I guess it is never too late.

I thought about posting a TR from India, Tibet and Nepal from 2001 while going through shots the other day from a 1.8 mega pixel pos. But will wait until your Killington TR so I don't seem so outdated

arewolfe; GREAT TUNEAGE. Thanks for the find!

Jonathan S.; my weekend was spent watching my flock of three lil' ones, it's always a blast! Glad you surviv- er, enjoyed your kidcare weekend and also got turns =)

therudeness; yes I was trying for the lightest setup I could manage and my hot heavy snow helmet lost out to the mtb helmet - my friend was inspired and did the same. I guess in mtl we also see a lot of folks rocking skate helmets on bikes. Never seen a hockey helmet yet though. I got Friday off and could manage a quick ninja assault on those Jay patches...

Vt-Freeheel; that is some really nice work there, lookin good!

VTColdSmoke; great OG stoke. I get pretty damn sore if I skate nowadays as well, but I figure I might be be able to keep doin; it if I stick to transition sk8in. Street is done for me, well, except for longboarding... mmm, summer...

How late will this thread make it this year?! Let's go, way up North stoke!

I don't have the energy to get everything up now...family, work, estate stuff. I'm just trying to keep things relevant and the 20 years anniversary of that memorable seemed so. I have a few old TRs in mind, but this Spring I'm focusing on continuing getting all my SA TRs up on the blog. Only missing one day missing from 2010. Missing the ones from 2008 (need to scan and relink stuff). Stopped writing for the trip in 2007.

Tuckerman May 7, 2006 is in draft mode. Hoping to continuing publishing TRs from later in 1992 season. That would include at least one from Killington.

Other than that, I have written TRs from last Summer in the Alps which I never posted.

My friend Stephanie has offered to build a web site for me. Always thought about one but have been turning away 45% of the jobs offeredto me the last 3 years. With that Earlywood character moving nearby i may take on more in the future.

And so you should be. If you build that website, my friend's company does virtual tour photography that could really showcase your work. www.newspin360.com The company is based in Oklahoma but he's in Shelburne.

wow, i was encouraged to see a possibility of rain/snow tomorrow, but nice surprise.

might push back the opening of the auto road though...but more snow is always welcome.

edit: yea, nice vids mtl...cool cameos of rog and jonathan at the end of clip #2. looked like a spectacular day to be there.

Nice mtl, thanks for the videos! Glad it's snowing up high, but really hoping that the auto road is open for memorial day weekend. My Mother-in-law + her 2 sisters are descending upon my house and I have the OK to run for the hills.

Anyone in the Boston area that would be willing to check out a mountain bike with me. Also any opinions on the bike would be appreciated. I'm a MTB jong. Would happily buy beer or provide some other comp to prevent a 1700 mistake.

Seems like a good deal. Look up what opinions are on that frame. I might be little sketched out riding a carbon frame that old.

Just go and check it out. You don't need to know a ton about bikes to figure out if it is good condition. Spin the wheel, check if they're in true, and see if the hubs are okay. Ride around some, brake hard, pedal hard, shift a bunch. Look at the shock stanchion, are there any big scratches? Big scratches could lead to leaking air. And most importantly since the frame is carbon, thoroughly look at every part of the frame to see if it has ever been hit hard.

I would go with you, but I'm super busy with the school the next couple of days. There should be someone around to help you out though if you need it.

I was there that same day!

I just found my TR on-line. Starts off with:

"Woke up at the somewhat alpine-esque time of 5:00 . . . but unfortunately the bed I was waking up in was located in western mass . . . so after a long drive, a gas station attendant unaware that all his pumps were inoperable, hitting inumerable potholes on Pinkham B, the unusual parking lot pre-hike assembly, a talk with pessimistic snow rangers at HoJo’s
    (eek!)"

Avy bulletin was very pessimistic as to softening.

Excerpts from what I found for ski conditions (remember, May 7 2006, *NOT* 2012):

"The summit cone was still almost entirely skiable thanks to an entertaining fringe around the road. The NE Snowfield has excellent cover, and will be skiable (to some extent) for many more weeks - overall softness/penetration would have made for A+, but a super-thin ice layer persisting on top downgraded it to B+. (Still skied very well, but the sound of skittering shattered ice interfered with the ascthetics.) [...] Right Gully was skiable all the way from the top of the pitch, with
excellent snow quality, although the entire top half is very narrow and probably about to disappear any day now."
"Climbed to the top of Left Gully - in contrast to my almost entirely deserted route from the summit back to the base of the bowl, all sorts of craziness going on there! Snow quantity was very impressive: should be skiable from the very *top* even for a few more weeks. Snow quality was a mix of just about everything - sometimes even quite good, though for the most part not really."
For those stuck in the Northeast, follow my NE Rando Race Series and check out my avalanche course. (For other avalanche course providers anywhere, feel free to use any of my "homework" assignments for your own courses too.)

mtl_ripper: never thought of the weight savings going with a bike helmet - very crafty!! leaning towards staying in town for a surf/cycling day tomorrow, unless we get some killer Jet beta from KT or FD

the NAM seems to think I should leave my snow tires on for this weekend's drive to the Sag.. GFS seems to say i can take em off. the vibration experienced on the way to NH (not da good kind) last week might tip the scales in favour of the switch.. and then it might actually snow

Got back yesterday from a combo camp/hike/home inspection trip, 2 days of blue skies, 2 rainy ones. We stayed at the Brewster River Campground, clean, nice location, close to most things around Jeffville. Parked at Stowe and hiked up Mansfield on Monday and hiked around the Notch as well. A coupla pix attached from the trip including a fellow we met panning for gold. Apparently, there's a mini gold rush going on in waterways that were affected by Irene. The theory is the hurricane churned up the river and stream bottom sediments and may have brought teh nuggets and gold particles closer to the surface. Somebody was skinning on the mountain and getting some WROD turns.

TC - Would like to say that I could get out this weekend but the trip to VA looms large at this point so don't want to make any definite plans and have to bail because we got the call. I will give you a shout Sat. if it looks like I will be around.

Rudeness, MTL - I am not sure it will be worth it at this point, heavy rain yesterday/last night will probably make a hike to whatever is up top a shit slog...would hate to see you guys make the drive for little reward. Still a chance I might wake up tomorrow and head there just to check the lungs and get the dog out for a romp but I won't be expecting much.

Bucket - Love the new avatar!

Moeghoul - Nice pics. Glad you got in a few days of nice hiking weather, yesterday would not have been a great day to be stuck in a tent/camper.
