yeah... i would prefer not to even get near that stretch... for my own financial health as well. tax free.. so tempting.

really i should go to gearx where i have credit for selling some old tele boots.. maybe cash that in for some dynafit crampons?

on that note, i have some Marker Baron/Duke crampons that I would sell to a mag cheap. They are the wider ones

Stonehurst Manor in NoCon was pretty nice for the area but kind of old rooms and weird decor IMO. I never had much luck finding a really NICE B&B that convinced the GF to come back (vs. Lake Placid that had several nice high end places with massage packages, etc. that were a good way to even out a few days of hiking).

Anyone living in/near Middletown, CT want to help me diagnose a front derailleur problem. I'm sure its probably something simple, and I'm trying to learn, so I don't want to take it to a shop. I replaced the front shifter and derailleur on my brother's bike and can't seem to get them to work properly, and I'm not sure why. I've spent about two hours on it today, and just want it done. I'm sure its like a 15 minute job, but I don't have the knowledge to take care of it. Cold beers and shitty conversation will be provided as compensation.

That would suck, luckily my m.i.l is very cool also and would never go there...as long as I keep a roof over her daughter and grand daughter's head and don't become a total pow derelict (which I probably would be if not for them btw) I'd get the pass. I'll let you know if I need your John Henry sledgehammering skillz.

The m.i.l does love little ones, probably the only thing she has ever given me shit about was not giving her another grand kid. One and done for me, I'd like to have some $ left so I can retire and go on the jake burton/winn smith 100 day a year plan!

MTL - I'm going to decide by 7:00 tomorrow if you are interested in making the drive, let me know.

Nice rog, mystery solved! Somehow I figured there was a backstory that involved this troll being ditched after you stole his girl.

Hopefully, now that he's been outed he goes back to his porn sites and spares us the middle school commentary.

okay finally a few pics from jay closing weekend...other skiers: fixed grip, the rudeness and non-mag buddy. good hang in the tram house (not pictured), and a nice run through some untracked and lightly tracked dense and creamy pow. fixed and i couldn't keep up with those guys on the back-up...word is they'd gotten 2 runs off the summit in the time we traversed back to stateside.
edit: yes and as the rudeness had to remind me, fixed grip and i did miss the last chair saturday by a couple of minutes. better though than missing it by a few seconds as i once closed MRG (crying) ...

...and a few more. by sunday all but presumably the north facing snow had receded quite a bit. can am was completely covered upon approach saturday morning. pretty bony by sunday afternoon, but at least a few fresh tracks can be seen. pretty much a country club day of many laps. few late season regulars out but randy 'the hammer' grasso was there as were fellow spring stalwarts jamie and dawn (photographed on jet) (jamie and dawn had together saved closing day last year - their contractor's tent serving as the only shelter from the steady rains...everyone on the hill - including the lifties after quitting time - spent quality (and quantity!) time under the tent eating, drinking and being merry. jay even acknowledged on facebook that the tent that kept folks at the mountain had kept the lifts spinning - as they'd initially planned to shut down an early in the day. last chair was at 4pm as scheduled) ...blah, blah, back to this closing day, i caught one of the last chairs and before i knew it a last run under the idled lift. last chair for 6 months. the sun would carry me through about half of my drive. a power nap the other half...

So get in a car, drive somewhere with snow, and ski it!

I dunno about you, but I'd rather see people getting after it than reading about why kids are getting shinbang in their Fulltilts on nsg.

    Haha touche my friend.

Maybe if NS un-banned me I'd go back on.. But while I've lurked it seems as they've all gotten more and more immature, and a lot more douches.

This thread is sick, just seeing all the snow pics in may gives me tears.

Last week. Not much snow left now, at least the bike trails are slippery again. All that dry traction was getting boring.
