the shoulder seasons are the best times for photography around VT IMO, and a good way to take the mind off the skiing that is no longer around VT (but which I KNOW is still available in NH... great job Rog! wished I was there rather than at work :/ ). This one from Mother's Day in 2010 is still one of my favs, and is used in quite a few of 'Dough's summer marketing materials....

I'm just getting around to playing with some new filters and other photo toys I got last fall... hopefully we'll get some striking light this spring to capture! (and maybe even some snowflakes... a little birdy told me next Tuesday and Wednesday might want to make-a-flake...I could dig)"Whenever I get a massage, I ALWAYS request a dude." -lionelhutz

I'll bet it was an extra kind of fun having your little one with you!

Your photos just prove it's a small world when it comes to skiing.
We'll definitely have to hook up for some turns, but our season ended on Easter, we've gotta get this house out of the construction loan. Next season, for sure!

Okay, so this is only half East Coast, only 3/4 skiing, and only 1/4 East Coast skiing . . . but here goes anyway.
(With a few more details and pictures at: http://timefortuckerman.com/forums/s...ad.php?t=14972)
Hanging out in the Hyak parking lot on Friday:

Justifiably happy Saturday on Rainier:

Nisqually Chute, where the pitch starts to back off:

And onto the flats:

Having randomly met up with a partner of a partner who had my same TLT5 boots, newer version of my bindings, and even narrower/lighter version of my Movement Logic-X skis, I couldn't resist another full lap . . .
although I do deserve some credit for resisting a final 500' minilap that would have made it a 10k day:
Total transportation time from end of skiing to touchdown in Boston was 11 hours.
My brother -- visiting from California -- picked me up the airport, and we drove to our Aunt's house where my sister-in-law and little nephew Caleb awaited.
Awhile later Andrea and Micayla arrived:

On Monday I needed to head up to Vermont, so checked out Killington. To my pleasant surprise, Superstar was still intact for 1175' vertical, with excellent conditions -- the middle section was even groomed, and the bumps on both headwalls had subsided since closing day, with lots of smooth space in between.

I stopped after four-and-a-half runs to get in a more aerobic workout on the road bike -- just kidding! Actually, I had to hustle back home, and I was transporting the bike for a friend.

In theory, yes, would be great to have a partner to trot up along/on the Cog, then lap Airplane.
In reality, this report somehow has not finished writing itself, so need a partner to stay home and work while I ski!
(Plus more reliable cell service on Mt Washington so that I can manage staff remotely via email -- Hyak was outstanding in that regard on Friday!)For those stuck in the Northeast, follow my NE Rando Race Series and check out my avalanche course. hey jonathan, your cascades adventure had me thinking that the conditions you found at closed killington were probably quite a bit better foot for foot than sticky out west. yet you keep leaving new england, home of the best, most consistent spring corn skiing in the universe to muck it up out there. oh ya, almost fergot, you were out there for business anyway

welcome home. monday you are mine, mmmmmwwwwwaaaaahhhhhhhhh!!!

If we were in the 1990s, Killington would still be spinning with that coverage. Not one doubt in my mind.
So what is happening with Airplane? Did Jonatham need an airplane to get to Rainier or did you just take the Autoroad?
I have to go to Montreal on the regular basic until the end of June, so I might get away and go a couple of laps at MSS this weekend if they open. Ottawa-MTL: 2 hrs / Ottawa-MSS-MTL : 3 hrs
Not saying that I would head south either, however my passport expires on May 31 (been told it now takes up to 2 wks to renew and they shutdown the downtown to save money &?@#%$*&%!!!) and I need it for June turns.Ski Mad World
