It took them a little while to get going because of Avy danger.

We found a spot that was cornice free and went for it:

Turning the corner on a 45 degree valley to see this made the day worth it already at about 7am:
.....I hope you know that this will go down on your permanent record

Way to get after it, ml. Between you, TC's cloud effect and Buckethead's tally 11/12 : 50 (14 pow), last chairs : 9 complaints about 11/12 : 0 this season
, this thread thanks you for going above the call of duty in posting stoke in an otherwise sub par snow season on the EC. Well done, gents!

let's just say......
that i've been in good hands

always lucky to be alive. it's nice here.
can't stop thinking about the pa storm chase. i mean, there's lots of epic tr's out there from big mtns all over the world, but what ensued this week in the mid atlantic is just such a cool, rare occurance. alaska, blah blah, tetons, blah blah, yurp, blah blah........tons of folks get after that shit and it's always right there in front of those willing to go there. skiings not that hard, especially given the equipment we all get to ride on these days, so much of the gnar factor has been taken out of the equation of many/most pursuits.
what i think is so cool is the rare exotic shit and occurances. like driving all kinds of silly hours to get after the only storm to hit an area in months and bring it from zero to hero in a matter of hours for it to disappear in just as many hours leaving those that got to take advantage of it, the lucky hero's.
having chased a huge storm system for 14 hours from n-con to canaan valley in 07' to ski some of the most exotic places that i ever could imagine in cold blower for 4 days, ml's trip brings me right back there where foofy micro metro beers are replaced by home grown moonshine. unreal.
nice day, hopefully the wind finally cleans up the shitty surf we've had for the last few days. waiting...........
rogblog
that palm springs tr is special/exotic as well imo.

^^^^ I agree rog and on that palm springs TR. That was very cool.
Nice work HV and ML! Nothing like a mad dash to chase the snow, the angst in the car, starting to see signs that there is actual snow, and then finally getting to it and making those first turns. Wish I was there with you dude! And that definitely looks like the Cliff.
HV- does holimont allow up hill? Skied there in college once with a buddy who was a "member".

write-up from my buddy, Adam....Springs even gave out free hot dogs?

when they are not open, sure. Other than that I think it would be frowned upon only if you didn't have a lift ticket. They are open to the public mid-week now.

packed monday night to hit 7springs (where i learned to ski/ride) at 6 am on tuesday from dc and woke up tues morning sick as a dog. fml. props to 7springs for spinning lifts the latest they've ever spun them by about 2 weeks and to everyone else who hiked and drove 700 miles like ml242 for 1 run of 500 ft vert. 7springs can be a blast though on the backside (750 ft vert) with good conditions-there's some glades, steeps, and small drops back there. looking forward to next year.

Dre, if ski patrol thought I was going to drive all that way and not ski every closed trail, sniff out every woods line, and hike the backside they must have thought I was from ski the east

haha, that's better

can you please change your original post now?
(j/k)
are you still in VT/possibly up for jay? (not the epic dump that would re-start your season, but a spinning lift, a festive scene and what's shaping up to be an EC mini...or at the very least a large micro!)
from jay website:
Tuesday, April 24th @ 12:30p
You knew this was coming: We will spin the Triple and reopen the Jet and Haynes this Saturday and Sunday. Lift tickets will be $25 for all comers and a waterpark combo pass will be just $49 (Adults - 15+) or $39 for Juniors (4-14).
The Triple will spin from 8:30-4p.
Conditions will be what you'd expect to find in late April: Corny in the morning; a bit mushy in the afternoon. It would be best if this weekend was not your first time on skis or a board. But if you like good food and frothy beverages, we will have a BBQ going at the bottom of the Jet.

What's up with Whiteface - skiable pitches left up high? I has no betas. Might take a walk up there early next week.
