You can tell there was a pent up desire for this powder. The lift line formed at 8:00 and was a consistent 7-8 minutes . Things were getting pretty tracked up by noon. Some fresh still in the nooks and cranies but my legs were getting too tired and unreliable to go after them after 1:00 so I headed home. Pics will be coming.

Still off and on moderate snow falling up there too.
damn.. you missed out.. the afternoon got cold and the wind filled the sides in nicely.. I thought the afternoon from 1:30 - 3:00 was better than the morning..

granted I didn't get started until 9:30 AM

Today at Smuggs is floating around in my top 5 best inbound days ever.

I spun a handful of laps off of Madonna II to start the day until it started to have problems with the wind, and then had breakfast before heading over to Sterling. The Sterling lifeline may have been long, but I got some a bunch of sweet laps traversing way into the woods off of Smuggler's Alley before finishing the day dropping into the notch.

I'll be out tomorrow AM before I have to head South for work. Are there jobs up here in TC land?

For those of you taking to the BC tomorrow, thoughts on avy conditions? Sticking to low angle or risking it? Tucks is high risk till midnight, and I'd assume that risk will persist throughout tomorrow.

I'll be somewhere up north, purple boots with buckles, Shiros with barons with brakes, tan & taupe jacket with a hood and powder skirt, carbon pants and a black vantage helmet with either I/O's or prodigy's with skull and cross bones.
I would prefer if you just say "wassssup" instead of "asking for change" cause that shits g#y.

Now I am scared to anyone for change, if I knew it was played I would have never steezed up. But I will be somewhere with either katanas and dukes, or home made pink skis with p90x'es, green or black patagucci jacket, grey tec wool socks, dalbello gnarballs boots w/pussy inserts, smith whichamicallit helmet, prodigys, and a goat with a tiny bit of beard. Ask for a cough drop, maybe even a "Ricola"!

Rog. just go stand in the water at the shore. get just deep enough it keeps rolling over shoulders. throw on your walkman with the sounds of small grains brushing quickly across crispy gore-tex. smile really hard for like 5 hours until your cheeks hurt, presto.

This is hilarious. Cant we just keep to Skis and a jacket? The flamboyant descriptions of ones wardrobe is fuck all queer as hell. I will be in the Bogner one piece with the embroidered dreamcatcher today though.

While you guys are out getting yours, I've been trying to justify my decision to take the day off with reviews of my latest trip out west. Poor compensation for the deep that fell.

So we were playing this game, "Cards against Humanity" and the soon to be wife came up with her own improvisational theme, dropping the heli skiing on me. I was stunned. Absolutely stunned.

The day was perfect for it. Sunny, with a few inches of fresh that'd fallen the night before. Unfortunately, that weak layer persist in Utah, thus the skiing was going to be limited to low angle and trees. Nevertheless, it's going to be truly memorable. Little did I know it would leave an impression on me far different than I'd anticipated.

I got dropped off in at the airport in Huntsville, UT at 8:20 for a 9:00 meeting (sharing the car). Huntsville isn't exactly a bustling metro area... There's nothing, and I'm pinching a loaf. So with my skis, camera, and other gear, I'm looking left and right to try to find a convenience store where I can drop a deuce. Nothing but residential zones, an industrial zone and an air strip. So I start walking. A few blocks and I hit a storage unit with a car in front. Step inside, nobody home, lights off. But the door was unlocked so someone's been here. I cruise through and find the bathroom in the dark. Awesome.

I give the place a once over "hello? Gonna shit in your can, is that cool?" No one on the premises. So I unload all the sins of the last night, clean up, and roll out.

The staff shows up, we go through the motions and we're airborne. We did one warmup run and five laps off the same peak. I was a little annoyed by that, but I'm starting to understand how the business works. It's not like they can stick you on a spine and trust you'll straight line it to the bottom with no problems. They've gotta cover their asses and all that. Eh. Still an experience of a lifetime.

Flyover of home base for the week. This is Moose Hollow in Eden, UT. Highly recommend it if you want a little tranquility on your next UT trip.

Finally, here's a first cut video featuring a not so solid performance on my part. Good news is, those turntable FKS140's are the bomb. I didn't even know the toe piece rotates. Turned it 90 degrees!

Can't wait to see more stoke from yesterday and today pop up in here. Cannon was good yesterday, don't know if they got the 9" reported, but for sure my best day this year. Glades could definatley use more snow though and after a few small rock shots I decided Mitersill wasn't gonna be worth it (and it was "closed") without knowing my way around. Plenty of tracks going in that direction though.

First run down Cannonball right next to the lift line was amazing, every other turn was a faceshot and I had a good time spraying the people on the lift. Snow that's light enough to be shot in the air this year, who da thunk?!

With the wind and traffic things got a icier by about 1 but still a good day. I set my expectations so low I didn't even bring the gopro, maybe that's the key to getting good snow? Pretty jealous I didn't get to N.VT, 4 ft in 2 days at smuggs? Is it true?

Sick dude. I didn't get to rude a heli last time I was there. The skiing is great but not much to do. There is a liquor store by the post office and supermarket over in Eden. Make sure to hit the shooting star on Huntsville. Oldest bar in UT and a really good burger. Cheap beers too.

i will gladly admit to being totally jealous at the stoke coming in the ecrc from this storm cycle. nothing better than starting a day with deep fresh and have the fresh get deeper by the run all day long.

anyone wanna go for a george tour tomorrow? nothing specific planned. looks like temps/wind will be tolerable. will start from the east side most likely for more options and wind protection.
