Excellent dude! glad you are finally getting some...
although it has been snowing here all day with more in the next 2 days
Rog- keep telling yourself that like a mantra nom nom nom nom..... cause skiing thigh deep untracked pow all day for a 2 hour drive is shitty thats fer sure.

Wildcat Friday
No idea why the Tomcat Schuss was closed, but I sure am happy it was.
I let my friend Andrew try the R/R skis in the dense pow under graupel / sleet crust this same day and it was so classic. He went from struggling, feet constantly being pulled out, tip diving, etc to "OMG this is awesome!! I can't believe how different this is! Etc."
I wish I had it on video, perfect R/R advertisement right there. So perfect you woulda sworn it was staged.

Maybe an inch last night about a mile from Smuggs. A few flakes today but it's getting warm. I hope it's staying cool enough on the hill. The mountain is in the fog now and it looks like light drizzle. My guess is that the pow is consolidated, probably a good thing for alot of the fun terrain. Now we just need a repeat of that last cycle.

yo, fun is where ya find it. looks like many of us are finding it close to home. you and me included. spent the last 20 winters turning left and then to the right in some pretty good snow at an average of 100 days a winter or more. it's now pretty refreshing to be mixing in some other stuff to take in all that NE has to offer in winter. turning left/right is fun still, too.
keep it coming!

Radar looks real blue up by Jay, any reports from the hill or close too? The rest looks green and pink, such ugly colors, except for worth bases!

Quality stoke shots from the weekend. Pretty cool shot of the military in the notch!
Silent....but shredly.

oh man Rog dont get all sanctimonious on me
just saying its winter, we ski pow in winter. I have spent the same 20 years and it never gets old, if it snows in portsmouth and not here, I am sure as fuck driving to portsmouth. I dont need gnar either, I was skipping logging roads in untracked yesterday and had one of the best times of all year doing it. Hope the new cutie does not preclude you from the bi-weekly george condition reports is all. I like them dude! Now get on some skis already, you may have fun.
Grubbers- like Seq said, not sure whats going on on the mountain, but it changed to very faint sleet and drizzle here, which dashes my pasture plans. No snow loss really at my house, temps are borderline here, 33.

that's more like it!
rog - funny but true. i have NO natural snow in my yard...wtf...well i got an inch last night then it melted today
. 10 miles west does have at least a frozen couple inches...then again, maybe not after today. all the snow i made over the wkend is going going going. this pattern needs to change!
tc - i'm glad you have some snow, but we need more and it needs to be spread around.
ok, bitch session about the weather is over. i waited til mid-jan, so that wasn't too bad.

Neufox- dead on with that. These are poor excuses designed to temper his skiing passion with a getting ass passion. We all know his head is spinning not skiing like he is used, but at least we get to hear his inner dialogue attempting to alleviate the torment his psyche is experiencing, vacillating in and out of sanity as we speak

Straw jack- Changing over down low here back to snow now, been snowing at the mountain all day, which is all that matters I guess. But I agree every where needs snow but thats sometimes a luxury in EC winters, hence why I drive an insane amount.

Been pissing rain all day here on the outskirts of Schenectady, NY and I have to finish up some work so that I can get in my car at 5am tomorrow morning to drive to Elmira for some on-site stuff - not really a day for great joy.
Until my new sticks arrived in the U.S. Mail!!!
Now I am so stoked (except for the rain, work and having to wait until the weekend part)
All mounted up and ready to go
I'll be at Magic on Saturday to give them the first test drive

Get Amped,
Those look awesome!
The rain is really pissing me off. I was going to hit Hunter tomorrow with my pops and his old lacrosse buddies, but no one wants to go now that'll be bullet proof. It might happen again this season but I doubt it. Add to that Hickory is still not open, Plattekill has five trails. If you don't make it snow soon, I say to hell with you Ullr......I hope you know that this will go down on your permanent record

Did somebody say ass passion?
Nothin wrong with that

Some yesterday stoke from the mighty Bowl...With dog.
Sadie, coming back to tell me I am too damned slow...
Navel gazing...AT-style
Looking down the pow field
Looking up Wayne's Worry...with dog.
Always waitin'.
Dropping!
Rain is a bummer, was definitely raining just below the bowl (went Nord-dorking today at Blueberry Hill in Goshen, about 800ft lower than the Bowl). Should consolidate the base nicely though and snow at the end of the week should set us up for a nice weekend. Vin, might take you up on those tickets..."I know you believe you understand what you think I said, but I am not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant."- Alan Greenspan
