Hit up Loon today with the wife for our 7th anny. It actually was pretty good cruisin', I'll admit it, I kinda liked the new South Peak cruisers.
Really cant complain considering what we've been dealt.
Hey Rog the new Factors skied great, no hot spots and felt solid on the down. Thanks for pushing them on me all summer.
Will be at Pabst Peak tomorrow and Wednesday w/ kids in tow. (Ya I know you guys are so jealous of my gnar).

no, yes, yes
(maps my man!)
correct on all counts
Plus add in another 5 min to stare at the Spur Brook crossing wondering about the best route, another 5 min to work up the courage to cross, another 5 min spotting your partner crossing. And probably the same again for the Cold Brook crossing. Maybe more time for pouring water out of our boots, although only for the first crossing, since at the second you'll just be too dejected to care any longer about personal comfort.
Other way around: my point was that the KR trail is access via Lowe's Garage, not App lot.
Yes, and especially so given that it's clearly visible from a major highway. Just like those other secret stashes of Ammo, Burt, MB. I mean, I'm all for keeping quiet about backcountry glades, but major glacial cirques that are majorly obvious from major highways...

yes!
and goEhuge, true story here i shit you not. when i'm crossed i can be kind of an asshole irl in person. enough to embarass friends and stuff. so i was a carpenter some years back and had bought skis, AT binders and boots from a shop to be mounted and adjusted to the boots so all i had to do was drive by and pick them up on my way to go skiing. i had friends with me and just expected it to be simple and quick.
so i get there and knowing that the old atomic made bd skis graphics were usually off by 1/8-3/8ths of an inch from ski to ski, i immediately grabbed the skis and put tails to the floor and wouldn't ya know it the fucking ski tech mounted the binders over 1/4" further forward on one ski than the other as the graphics for boot center were off that much. he didn't even think to measure. being a plum/level/square kinda guy, and a tad anal it was the 1st thing i checked. i was fucking ripshit. as soon as my friends saw me look at the skis they were like, "oh fuck, here we go"
i love it, actually i hated it. so i go up to the manager and show him the problem and he says, "well, our guys are trained and use the proper jigs" i look at him and the ski wall and notice another pair of bd havoc 175 on the wall, walk over, rip them from the plastic and ask him to show me to the work area. the ski tech was not due in till later and knowing how to use tools and any kind of jig i mounted the fucking things myself, grabbed my friends and went skiing.
the manager never even questioned me.
new skis for you!
hey summersux, thanx for inviting me to ski at loon with you and your smokin hot awesome babe of a wife. coulda been schralping grooms at my favorite (not kidding) nh ski area. bastid
glad you like the factors. gave you a good enough deal on em, eh? no need for heat molding either i presume? heat molding is WAYYYYYY overrated. best to ski em in unless yer feet are truly fucked up.
beers on the stoop?

Weather forecast has been so back and forth past two days it's driving me crazier. It is as if Captain Jack Sparrow is sailing the storm up the coast trying to avoid the Empires fleet. It does look like some base snow will be added by the weekend.
on an another note only a few weeks after the tragic Stamford fire some 'tard in our condo complex paper sacked a dumpster with ashes and caused this fire.

Forecasters here (Boston) are saying 6"+ for George and the Greens. A bit wet, good for base building. Maybe winter begins soon?

That was my point, the majority of whole range's skiing is above tree line and visible.
Strangely enough I did it with google and no maps Jon, maps are cool if you like to know where you are going and stuff
how about you show me you mt wash maps and I will show my vt secret glade maps, we'll meet in the middle. Met a guy, John (left gully) on the cog last week who is friends with you, works mountain rescue there?
Anyway , Snowing hard now, hope it keeps up, an excellent base down now, this could open more non trail skiing up.

And not only that, he is also the official cartographer for the RMC!
Here is his map:

Highly recommended for navigating the maze of northern prez trails!
(Much more detailed and finely rendered than the AMC map for that area.)

just decided that if this storm works out i'll come up to mwv on thurs night, skin the cat well before the lifts open for the day, then get on 1st chair till noon, then head back home to portsmouth for closing shift at the store. no way my legs will be able to handle more than 3 straight hours of 6 minute hsq laps of 2100 vert. the morning skin to the top should be a nice leg stretcher though.
if we only get under 6 inches and friday is just spitting snow and not puking at least moderately i'll probably just wait and ski sunday/monday on george maybe. altho 6 inches won't do shit for the sherb, but at least it's a start.
mmmmmmm, sugarloaf......................................... ..

I would be so damn happy if this storm actually dumps some decent snow in VT. The weather is driving me nuts I haven't skied and Eastern powder this season and its halfway through January. Please just snow.

VT Session- unfortunately all the pow days have been mid week, hoping for a weekend storm this time, the resorts could use it.
Seriously snowing hard out, for a while now. Afternoon laps at Smuggs if anyone is interested.
Nice Rog, yeah that was him, lets hope those conditions are a long way off though.

nice! i think everyone that has worked as a tech f'd up somewhere along the line. if you do you owe new boards, period. i drilled too deep on my own kids boards way back...didn't go all the way thru but made a little dimple on the base. that was the least of my concerns with kids boards. fyi for those with little kids...kids boards are RAILED from the factory. get the panzer file and work up a sweat to get those puppies relatively flat. glad those days are over.
in taos i was the tele mounter 'cause i was the stinkin' tele skier and we didn't have a jig. knowing how to read a tape measure was a prerequisite
and i have to admit i was glad Rog was a tape guy when i brought my kids boards to him.

You dont text and I dont make calls, hence the missed connection

The invite must be with my invite to mtn bike at fort rock with ya, j/k. It was totally last minute d/t child care coming thru.
The Factors skied nicely right out the box, smoking deal that I can't advertise online d/t the DEEP discount garnered at EMS Port City.
Fit is good, stiff enough flex, good lateral support, we'll see how they tour someday. Might bake 'em later but so far no issue.
Beers and/or dinner at my place this week. We can do Wednesday or Thursday night.
Off to Pats now.
PS I dont think you could've kept up w/ A-Boogey on her new Rossi S86W's you mounted up for her! Rocket Ships
