I say you should go with the pair with the sharpest edges. Now is that pair 1, pair 2, or pair 3?
BTW...I have those 11-17 din 997s, not as minty as I originally thought, based on the pics. Pretty good shape overall, but missing 1 toe wing afd, and a small chip/crack in the din glass. We'll figure out the specifics on Saturday.Magic Mountain Freeride Team...bringing your grom's game to the next level.

Hrm, that'd probably be pair 2 as they still haven't seen snow yet, although I did a pretty nice job on 1 before putting them away last year. I loaned the third pair out for the season. Hope they don't come back too badly beaten, but they're tough skis. I should probably break out the wizards at some point too. I'm excited to have scored a nice pair, and think Magic is the spot to ski 'em first.
Cool, thanks. We can work it out over beers.BTW...I have those 11-17 din 997s, not as minty as I originally thought, based on the pics. Pretty good shape overall, but missing 1 toe wing afd, and a small chip/crack in the din glass. We'll figure out the specifics on Saturday.

****** NYC Mags headed to Magic (or even passing by). Anyone have room to transport a 50" tv from NYC > Magic this week? I've got a 'spare' in the city and figured many of the aging Glebetrotters might appreciate a little bigger TV in the bar area - you know, one you can actually see. Please PM me if you can help. Is it one of those super old tv's that take up a ton of room? Also if you need to harvest parts from some 977's, they are yours.

Your poor housekeeping peeved ULLR and delayed winter? WTF is wrong with you. I am going to burn you in effigy this weekend while I am not skiing at teh bush. Also going to drag a keg of Long Trail to K-mart to appease ULLR.

After "blowing" continuously since Wednesday the bush is now open top to bottom with 1 wrod pathway. Here is a report I copied from AZ that describes the "action". btw, Yesterday mornings snow report said "packed powder, machine groomed conditions". Going to put the MTB back in the truck.
"Skied today just got back
I agree with the angry post, yes the post seems a bit dramatic but really Sugarbush plain sucked this weekend and was far worse today. I was with intermediate skiers who really didn't get to go much as a result of the conditions and on the way back I heard a lot of complaints about why we just didn't spend the weekend in killington as from route 100 there is visibly a lot more snow on that mountain. It does look really sad that not only could they not open more trails but the conditions were not good either, downspout was according to some the worst they've ever seen it. Top to bottom when they finally opened it(gondolier) was like a sheet of ice, might as well sent the snowlogic guns back because a hose would be almost as effective and way cheaper. I know mother nature has not been kind but the resort has to do better, they should have gotten a little more open maybe organgrinder and ripcord and the conditions should be better. I am not asking for them to match killington in early season snow making, but at this stage 2-3 real trails and decent skiable conditions should be a reality."
PS, BD I am stopping by sat to pick up Otis for the killy trip, how about 6:15?Last edited by Vt-Freeheel; 12-13-2011 at 04:57 AM. Reason: dog pick up

Yon is still around for sure. Weather is cold and grey calling for snow on the mountain forecast. And temps are getting better for this thursday event. Gonna be close, I think jay and to the mad valley should eek out snow from this. snowing right now.
No worries on Ktown day trip to here would not be a day trip even if you drove and skied all day.Last edited by thin cover; 12-13-2011 at 09:14 AM.

TC and MBB - Too damn funny, used to love Karlas! I don't know how many pairs of gloves I shredded on that old tow rope back in the day. Used to mtn bike the power line trails out to Bell from 518 almost every weekend, some great riding back there as long as someone cuts back the overgrowth a few times a year. MBB - I make it back on a somewhat regular basis and usually crash at one of two buds places in Yardley or Upper Mkfld so I will shoot you a message next time I'm headed down and we can meet up if we don't end up meeting up here first. I was planning on coming down for the Birds game this weekend but I dumped the tiks, not worth the drive at this point!
TC - Hopefully we get some fresh on Wed. night into Thursday and the forecasted "four letter word" holds off. If that happens I plan to head up for a few hours in the morning.

Anyone ever taken a Wilderness First Responder or Wilderness First Aid course? If you've taken both, did you get a lot more out of the WFR than the WFA?
Would love to take the WFR course, but not too psyched about taking a week off for it.Last edited by neufox47; 12-13-2011 at 09:36 AM.

I felt the same way as you about the time commitment. I'm sure that it's awesome to spend a week in WFR. It definitely goes beyond what you learn in the WFA, and it'd be kind of valuable to spend more time making splints in class. But if you're not using it for a professional application and don't have the time, I don't think you'd have buyers remorse over the WFA. I took the class last january with VT-F in Waterbury, and had a great time. It was a holiday weekend, so it was a great weekend to take off from resort skiing anyway even though the bc was getting kind of fat at the moment.
In other news, I just checked out this kind of spammy video TR about the Devil's Path from Timberland. There are lots of unnecessary shoe shots, but I was digging the foliage. That's why nature should really get her act together so we can have leaf peeping followed by immense amounts of snow.

Disappearing Act: just under 33&1/3
Wardrobe: right between talisman and sorcerer
Nothing "new" to magic skiers and pretty obvious to anyone paying attention but I think it's great to add that terrain to the map. They are both huge and have plenty of options and were both perfect to be added to the map."If you limit your choices only to what seems possible or reasonable, you disconnect yourself from what you truly want, and all that is left is a compromise." -Robert Fritz
