That tree skiing is intense. Amazing. Tele still rules the mountain!

Nice TeleK! Great music choice and I liked that air into waterfall.
Snow was still great yesterday, but anything that got too much sun got a zipper crust installed on top by the afternoon. Sheltered and Steeper N-NE facing lines should be $$ for a while longer. It's warming up fast though. Trees are dropping bombs today.

Let me guess, they both passed you prior to the pics.

Loving the photo and video stoke from the weekend! I remembered to take my camera out for a couple laps on St. Patty's day. Here is a short and mellow edit.

I've never seen the best conditions of the year go to the worst conditions of year in 24 hours like that. I bailed on my partners 1/2 way up west shore due to everything turned to saturated unrideable mank. I mean it was terrible on a SNOWBOARD. I'm pretty sure no snow on any aspect got spared today.

Since we're posting road shit-show pictures, here was my favorite of the bunch I passed on highway 50 on Sunday (there were at least a dozen incidents). Driver was lucky those dense trees were there - must have been going pretty fast to blow through the guardrail like that.

A huge thanks to whoever retrieved my ski this morning off of Headwall. I lost it near the end of the day yesterday; went back this morning to get it and somebody else already did the work for me. I owe you a beer.

They shut down 6 immediately. Heard about 1 partial burial (dont have details beyond that) and then once i realized they needed help with probing the drebris path for the possibility of others i went up to help probe with a bunch of other volunteers. Must have been 40 of us probing for 2 hrs or so. Snapped the attached pic while waiting for more probes to arrive.

Then i got stuck there for a few hours, then inched my way down 88 to Folsom behind numerous accidents spinouts and general mayhem. Took me 4.5 hrs to get home (normally takes 1.5 - 2). Just walked in the door at midnight. Exhausted.
I think you snapped a pic of me (green jacket) - pretty hilarious. From what I could tell it look like 6"~12" crown though it was kind of tough to see from where I was. Do we know what happened to the individual - hope they are good? That avy was super deep in the middle (a good 2 feet deeper than my 330 cm probe). Scary.

Just wanted to +1 to how sweet monday was. Got pretty much first dibs on 6,10,thunder and palisades by 2 pm it was getting a thick.

Well after the full retard of the last few days, Vailywood did get the full effect of the tropical tail today, when the ridges weren't fogged in, previous mounds of tracked were turning to full on gorilla glue mash. A few funnish laps in the am before it turned to a sauna.

Heres an edit from the last few days before it got hot. Nothing too rowdy as most of it was filmed in the side country and we kicked off a few minor slides both days!

    I feel yer pain!

Figured the high north facing Chutes at Rose would stay good given the forecasted temps today but no go. Top half was skiing OK, but damn the lower flanks and runout to the chair were sticky, felt like I waxed with Elmer's.
According to the Snotel, it got to nearly 40 degrees at 8800' this afternoon Supposed to be 67 in Reno tomorrow.

Marhankins, were you riding around with Miles on Sunday as well?

Got greedy and decided to extend my epic (conditions and timing) long weekend one more day... First two hours of riding were decent off of KT, but then the mist rolled in and the trees started raining. Oh well, it beat working.

No, I only ran into those dudes a couple times on Saturday. What an amazing weekend. I wanted to extend mine as well, but it didn't work out. Jealous of those who made it out on Monday.

Grah. Weirdest snow I've ever skied in Squaw today. After 1130 anything that looked like powder felt like mud.

People were just toppling over left and right because the snow wasn't behaving as it usually is.

0900 - 1100 in the trees on Granite Chief was still pretty nice though.

Coop, if you are reading this, I was the guy immediately on your left in the blue jacket as we were working the line going up.

And yeah, somewhere between 8 - 9 hours drive time for me for about 5 or 6 runs.....worst drive time to ski time ratio for me ever! (although those 3 runs we got in Pali alllmmoooooost made it worth it

Went cat sking today and was pleasantly surprised by the terrain offered. North facing on the north shore skied nice until I went for a bit of a ride mid morning.
