I was at Gnar* today and yeah the holiday crowds killed what little snow they had. It needs to get cold so they can blow..because Mother Nature ain't helping right now.

I wish I had a bike. Of course, I don't even have anywhere to keep one in at my place.
Maybe I'll go to SB this week and ski the "private" mountain.

I have a bike that gathered dust all summer while I played in the snow. Maybe I should start riding now?
On the other hand, Heavenly was fun yesterday and KW seemed to get Zackary's boilerplate under control (little by little) as the weekend progressed.
It's hard to complain too much when you spend all day on snow, but I think we've earned some fresh at this point!I can't remember...

Just read that the Squaw Valley Ski Corp (Vail Corp?) was unable to "negotiate" with the Willards and will be closing the Squaw Valley Sport Shop in April. Bummer...that is a cool shop that actually caters to skiers. They have helped me out plenty of times...good luck to Dennis, Chris, and Dax

I posted this on another board, but I wanted to extend my apologies to the Mags, as well. Ladies and Gentlemen. I must extend my apologies. You can blame or debate global warming, but I have solid fact about how and why this is happening. You see, the snow briefly started in Oct/Nov. I filed my application for extended leave from work on December 2nd and it was approved on December 16th. I must have done someone wrong in my past because Karma is seriously kicking me in de ballz right now! I was to spend my extended leave studying and writing grants while enjoying the mountains of Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, and Cali. Now I am aimless trying to decide where to wind-up. I have an Epic Pass and a Pass to Kirkwood.....but I am lost with no direction. Hopefully the snow starts falling by early Feb.......Leave starts Jan 20th!
I apologize to California for the 2011-2012 drought and to the rest of the country for the resultant spike in California produce costs!

So I drove to Reno for a New Years celebration. Up and over Donner we went and I am depressed as all hell.
Is Kirkwood willing to transfer my pass to next season? I haven't picked it up yet, and if this keeps up for much longer I don't see the point in picking it up since they'll close after spring break. When life gives you lemons, don't make lemonade. Make life take the lemons back. GET MAD! I DON'T WANT YOUR DAMN LEMONS! WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO WITH THESE?! DEMAND TO SEE LIFE'S MANAGER! Make life RUE the day it thought it could give YOU LEMONS! DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM?! I'M THE MAN WHO'S GONNA BURN YOUR HOUSE DOWN! WITH THE LEMONS! I'm gonna get my engineers to invent a combustible lemon that's gonna BURN YOUR HOUSE DOWN!

Sand harbor has more snow than Rose...
With that said Rose was fun, I have very boring footy to prove it.
On a side note, does anyone have a becon, probe and shovel that I would be able to borrow for a trip to silverton Jan 12-17? I will be nice to it, and even if I die the stuff should get back to you (presuming the becon works
).

How about I leave one there on the 12th...

Pretty sure you can rent all the gear there.

Greetings. This is my first post on the forum. I hope to bring some positive news here. The (not so reliable) 10 day forecast is finally showing a potential change in this seemingly endless pattern of dry weather:
http://www.weather.com/weather/tenday/USCA1069:1:US
It's nothing outrageous, but hey, it's better than sun and neutral clouds.
I shoot photos and video, so I'll try to contribute some worthwhile media in the future.
Cheers

Old Spammy Clip
Ok, it's from weeks ago (I just heard about it). And it's Spam. But hey, I make a brief appearance in it at around 0.42
(Squaw Creek run)
Filmed with a goggles cam http://vimeo.com/34114821
F**k me! Who knew then that this was as good as it was gonna get at Squaw for a while?
I think JLA415 is in the NS segment.
Cinders & me will be at NoStar this Friday.
Sad to say we were looking forward to it, for variety, but it sounds like the Conditions are deteriorating too fast...

I am in ouray for the ice climbing festival. Ice is great here. I have bike, ski, and climbing gear with me and I don't plan on coming home to south lake Tahoe till it snows.

Epic Pass holders can ski for free at Big Sky if you book your lodging with them. Thinking about it.

Quit bit chin, sack up and fly to europe! 3 best days of blower pow in verbier I can remember! and this place is sooo much more legit. First day there were 18000 skiers and i skied fresh bell to bell and waited less than kt! THe last two days its been DUMPING nonstop and they don't close anything! Today we were lapping 3k coulee laps with no one around in the most insane whiteout wind storm I've ever rode, if it was anywhere in tahoe everything would be on wind hold or closed. Verbier makes squaw look like diamond peak. All of you, get off the the tahoe thread and book a fucking flight! best decision you will ever make in your life
