Some of you are already in the loop, because you have talked to me in the last few weeks. The merger of UnofficialAlpine.com with UnofficialSquaw.com, and the rest of Unofficial Networks is now official. The actual transition is happening some time over the next couple of weeks. The goal is to solidify our efforts in providing a public forum for the shenanigans of Squaw Valley Ski Holdings LLC operation of Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows. I am still gonna be doing writing for the new UnofficialAlpine site. I hope you Alpine insiders still choose to help keep me informed.

For what it's worth, UnofficialMtRose will be making that transition at some point as well. That's a good thing because the casual observer will note that Rose is taking steps toward some major development and expansion. The Mt Rose management has been pretty unexcited about the Unofficial site. It will be good to have the backing of Unofficial Networks, rather than living in constant fear of having my Rose pass pulled.

Wow, I just realized Flatstar is opening before Squaw. What gives? Anyone know details? Dookey?

I'm going up this weekend to drop off some stuff, check out the tuning clinic with Willi, and hopefully take care of some paperwork with Alpine Meadows. Might have to go check out Northstar at some point. Hmmm.

I'll be at Gnarstar on Saturday if you decide to give it a shot. They have more snow making equipment (like Heavenly) and it's been really cold so good conditions for man-made, hence the earlier opening. That's my guess, anyway.

Gnarthstar opens on the 18th, along with Heavenly...
