80's in Reno this weekend. Goodbye winter of 11/12. It was nice knowing you...for the whole 2 months. So much for corn skiing too

I guess Shasta could be ready a month early.

Looks like they gave Jim S some good drugs!
They're going to try to open the Squawlpine interconnect again tomorrow. Too many wet slides and manky snow today.**

In any case, if you're ever really in this situation make sure you at least bargain in a couple of fluffers.

I obtained a RE brokers license and went to Mexico....any snow left for Friday screwing around at Squaw?

Any word on Halls or Moon Crescent? Thinking about a possible early morning ski on Saturday then head to KW.

Glad we were able to get in so many quality laps with you on Friday at kwood, Gimpy. Saturday we grabbed some good pow on Tallac, then some more good pow up high on Sun before it warmed up.

and this was today
jk, i also zoomed on the peak once. when i drive by it seems like the shot on the lookers right off the peak only has a small air to exit. in years past it seemed like it always had a small air to immediate wind lip injury.

Was hoping last week's storm would hold things up for a while, but damn it looks like we're going straight from winter to summer. Time to break out the golf clubs, I guess.

I had the same thing this time last year and didn't miss a day of skiing. Just do your PT and you'll be great!
I hope I'm wrong, but i dont think theyd open something secretly. There are closed signs all over Granite Chief and the terrain looked like slide city. I kicked off a very small (1/1) soft slab on Saturday afternoon with a 5" crown on the far skiers left of granite chief peak. Not dangerous but I wouldn't want to do the same thing on a side that wasn't bombed that morning. Anyone been back there before / have first hand experience?

Way I see it, one can either keep lamenting the season (which is far from over in my books) or one could actually be out enjoying some pretty damn bueno spring conditions right now.
For example, today was totally Rockefeller at Mt. Rose. I hiked the Chutes for two solid runs, one on Nightmare and the other on Miller Time. The snow was soft and supple with a nary wink of stickiness (at least until you got down lower near the Slide Mt. turnout). There's still plenty of snow up there and the coverage in the Chutes is damn nice. Shame they closed so early."Man, we killin' elephants in the back yard..."
