in the short time i have been reading him, ba is pretty good at interpreting models, or as good as anyone around these parts. i'd tell you what he says but i gotta think most if not all here are already privy. reading him tonight got me fired up for later this week though. things are already set up smooth and solid and should only get better.

That's a lot of pressure when you quote me Splat. It's all just a compendium of what was said by BA, WeatherGeek and the forecast discussions from both the Reno and SAC offices.

Super suprisingly good corn all day at DR yesterday. It had it all- crispy corn in the shade, soft deep mashed corn in spots and juicy corn at the bottom. High thin clouds kept the sun off it and kept it nice. Lot's of shit eatin' grins all day. Man it was good.

Good on ya'll keeping 4 for another week. My friends will be stoked when they ride this weekend. I did not get past Button this week, but my wife, who has had limited opportunities to ski, was very pleased with everything between Fawn and TS on Saturday.
But you do know what the big question is.
Any word on the KW only pass and networks?

Hola Powdrhound,
Look's likely this deal is completed this week.. We are in a holding pattern from the K-Wood side until it officially closes.. It has been a hell of a 5 week wait since announced and believe me when I say, "It's been hard on all"! From the staff side (running the Mtn.) to you all waiting for the announcement of a K-Wood only pass has been a period of weightlessness!
The discussions I have had are all positive with the K-Wood only pass and the deadline will be adjusted for those that waited...
I wish I had the specifics but I honestly do not... I will post on the FB & K-Wood site the moment the deal happens and launch the passes as well! Should I post here as well?

Ok Tahoe folks, one quick spam post- I know you had a slow start to the season, but I'm still expecting some sick footage from you guys. TGR has pulled together some sweet prizes for a contest by the maggots, for the maggots:
http://www.tetongravity.com/forums/s...ot-POV-Contest
We want to do it again next year, but we really need participation from all of you guys this year to get it off the ground. This season's contest is not limited to footage from this year- go back into your archives and pull out your sickest stuff. Or best beaters.
Splat, skier666, punani, ottime, Vets, powdork, ScralphMaccio, spats, kidwoo, and all the other longtime TGR Tahoe mags- I know you guys bring the stoke, and that there is a sick edit or three in you guys.

Just putting this on this page so all you joey go-pros and cory contours can put together a sick Tahoe edit. I know I hear lots of shit about how POVs suck, but I also know I have seen some sick footage from the local crew in the past few years. Go make the Sierra proud.

I'm in for the stormage!
Thanks for trying to help me out last weekend. We are still interested in skiing Alpine.
Here are some pics of Owen at the Far West J4/5 Championships at Northstar last weekend. Finally met onehotchili and Lou at the race. We had a great time. Owen skied really well and impressed the hell out of the crowd. He beat a few kids a few years older than him and held his own with the big guys. Nobody could believe he was 5.

^^Yeah buddy! Love to see the groms killing it.
Rode Squaw the last two days and had a blast after the sun softened things up. I definitely see why you guys call every other mountain flat. Much thanks for the Caliente rec, cheap happy hour and great food.
I rode the abortion of a half-pipe under the high camp chair, oh boy. I did talk to an SPT guy and he said the big boy jumps are going to be open to the public on Saturday, not sure about the transfer 1/4 pipe at the bottom. Should be some fun gawking either way."Just send it you pussy."

Dude, that last pic is money. Are you sure he's not talking to one of his spancers? And I'm loving that that BV suit!
Sucks about the knee. Tweaked mine running the stairs Wednesday. Had to bail on skiing Friday, but I was good to go by Monday. Heal up!

Awesome job Owen!
Good to meet you. I didn't see Owen's run but just based on the pictures it looks like he is a ripper and I really like his form. I remember when the girls were his age and it brings back memories. Sorry to hear that the knee tweak ended up being a sprain. If you come by Kirkwood give us a shout.

So, I know it tends to get a little KW centric around here (nothing wrong with that), but now that we finally have some snow Squaw announces they won't even make it into May. Closing day is April 29th. Sure, maybe it'll warm up and melt a ton before then, but pretty lame to call it right as we're getting another decent storm coming in.
At least KSL is leaving Alpine alone for a bit longer. Until they change their minds when they realize they aren't selling enough food and day tickets.

KSL only has to run two lifts at Alpine.

Once KSL bought Alpine, it was a done deal that Squaw and Alpine wouldn't both stay open through the spring, doesn't matter how much snow. They don't sell enough lift tickets to justify having two ski areas open, probably not even enough for one, and now that everyone in the bay has a pass instead of buying tickets....
