I would like it to see it be a maggot community effort, and I do think it would be cool to have just a handful of cams throughout the contest. But one problem for me is, I don't think I actually know any mags. Maybe??

I would like to be on a Colorado effort for collecting some footage though, and am willing to meet up with some mags this winter.

id be down to join the squaw collective of mags since i havent really skied w any of them and wear a gopro all the time anyways.

PSA, ContourHDs have been popping up on SAC , Whiskeymilitia and are on deptofgoods for like 140 right now for anyone who wants a good helmet cam on the relatively cheap.

I am trying to decifer skifishbum code and not sure I have it dialed yet. Anyways, what I am saying is I can get cams. I want mags to define the parameters. If any additional prize help is desired I can help with that. Otherwise, I just help with cams and hosting. I think it should be fully mag based though, with no FB lieks coming into play. Voting(if you want voting) should be via polls. Promotion should be limited to inside the forums only. No link on contest page, etc. Keep it core.

Ultimately I was envisioning a simple contest for maggots to show off their real life ski season hijinks and shenanigans.

I agree that it should be mag based. Maybe make it that voting can only be made by account holders. The main issue with that is the people who have multiple accounts or the free time to make multiple accounts. Or maybe have a panel of judges...for example maybe some of the guys at TGR can be the judges.
I think it would be cool, if this does fly, if TGR would play each of the states videos at next year's film tour. For example play the Colorado mags video in Denver, Boulder, Steamboat, Aspen, etc. And the same for Cali, UT., EC or whatever. You know get a little bit of exposure for the mags out there that rip their local hills. It would be a 5-10 min. segment for each state's mag population.

Just some ideas!!

What about having different categories for the stoke..

like most maggoty, pro-type stoke, steezy, etc so the people that are no way going to be able to compete in a contest of who can ski the craziest line on video type stoke-off have a reason to be involved.

One thing I am unsure of is how you are going to determine if someone is "maggot enough" to get some time with the go pros, and how you are going to be sure everyone who is and wants a chance gets a chance?

Maybe have a category for footage shot on personal cameras?

So voting goes on here for the winners in each category, and then someone takes all the winning footage, plus maybe some of the other stuff and makes a movie...

I don't like being on video, but I can provide back scene stoke!

How about dividing up regionally or by state-province. Then have the maggots in each region decide or vote on who there editor is gonna be and prove him or her with your best footage.

Opening it up to any helmet cam footage would allow way more maggots and regions to partake if the supplied cams dont get around to them...

I picked up one of the contours on sale yesterday, so I'll be able to do some mediocre east coast stuff. I've got a pass to cannon with my cousin and a few other people, we'll see what happens.

I need one now, I;m doing some mega, epic type shit this fall.

Just for the record, and so we are clear, Wasatch Powder Skis will award the skier in the segment that it deems to be the most snorkel worthy powder-stoke a pair of NIP MOMENT Donner Party. SFB and I will view the final cut of the maggot movie, and post the segment time (e.g. 1:26 - 2:12) at the appropriate time.

Wtf you cant just come into the ICEMAN TGR MAGGOT POV STOKE_OFF 11-12 and start creating catagories and dishin out free pow sticks without running it by Ice and hes judging for me

I like the multiple many catagories and prizes and would be down to allow any pov , but the purpose that I envisioned invoved the ofishcearal state go pro being handed off IRL and a lot of maggot interaction.
Granted the crews cliques or groups in the state may not be down w/ touring with people they dont know, but I would expect if the cam is on the tram plaza a change 4 a $.05 greeting would be returned.
Perhaps an neon case or way to indentify the cam
I also like the state footage being shown at premires.

Can someone create one post that sums everything up? I can see this is somewhat of a work in progress, but I've read this entire thread and I'm still not sure what exactly is going on, but I can see numerous possibilities for fun.

I have my own camera as do a lot of other folks, but I can understand that SFB's goal is to actually get mags to meet and have fun IRL. Opening submissions up to anyone with a camera would probably remove the social aspect of the contest.

Each region having its own thread specific to the contest is a good idea. This would help organize the region and PSA's can go out as to the location of the camera on any given day/time.

Hypothetical situation:
PNWBrit has the camera, posts that he is going to be at xtal on whatever tits deep day, MtnGirl and RegCT can get in contact with him IRL, meet up, have safety meeting, shralp pow. PNWBrit either passes off the camera or takes it home and posts footy in the PNW stoke contest specific thread. Regional mags criticize footy and choose what clips make the PNW final edit/submission.

So basically every region will need a designate person to collect all footage, and filter accordingly. Might make sense to create a separate thread for each area (i.e. Tahoe Stoke Contest Thread, etc.).

I think everyone should shoot raw footage, then edit as best they ca, then everyone from all regions sends their edited SD card to one maggot to put the best footage together to a few old school tunes.

A single editor or stare mag edit party, various state teams, other footage I dont really care to much.

Mkay, despite my some-what JONG status, I'm definitely interested in participating in a/the PWN team. Really digging the BBQ idea!

I like the idea of having one designated camera (GoPro or otherwise) per team, regardless of whether it's donated by TGR420 or a personal camera. And having a team-specific thread is perfect - maybe an email group at some point also.

For me, the idea is to get out with other mags, have a blast, and maybe even get some good footage. I don't much care how it is edited or how the prizes are chosen. I'll leave it to the community to nail down those details.

PS: Reading SFB's posts is like trying to understand Farmer Fran.
