Im thinkin 420 and I are on the, this is a contest to use a simple gadget that he/they are providing to create a homage to being a maggot that month season or time frame, type page. this is a maggot dealio and should involve as many mags as possible.
Im voting for bacon boobies and most maggotly should be a swag winning catagory as well as stoke

-Vids get uploaded to TGR site to a specific contest page where you can see all the edits in one place. These same vids can get embedded into a forum post.
-Voting takes place as a forum poll to keep it more mag based and not FB contest.
-Other than the GoPros all prizes come from Mag companies.

    Just a few thoughts.
    Bump to page 2.
Yes, PNW submissions would rule if Z-bo, Lani and them boyz get the camera.

I hope this doesn't spin solely on POV and that users get better angles than from the bottom looking up.

    POV

POV tells so little of the story. it's a nice approach and all, but lot's is lost, imo. not being able to see a skiers movements and aggression/grace is kinda limiting. and nothing looks as gnar as is really is through POV.

i get it and do think that POV is very cool. kinda mysterious and doesn't give location/line away so much.

If it is possible, I think having multiple options for mounting would help video quality.

So stoked to see the outcome of all this.

One GoPro usually includes helmet mounts, hat strap and pole mount. Prolly no need for more. Let's get this started...

In order to have any chance of "the big boys" participating and donating schwag, we need to show our interest and bump here.
I will be submitting some footage from the wasatch back.Who else from UT. will be contributing? Colorado? Cali.? WY.? Montana? ID? The ice coast? We need the name of filmers to get this done.

So if I get a bunch of these GoPros for the contest do you think we should limit it to footage from only those, or should we let any mags with POv cameras or other cameras for that matter submit. Once we shape this I am sure we could get some great prizes for it. I still think we need more ideas on the details. I would prefer you guys set as much of the details as possible so it is truly a mag project.

    my input
teams of from 5-10 mags as many teams per state as wanted pov rotates daily or weekly among
state teams. Id like to see it kept to the go pro and about being maggotly creative with that simple device.
    or any go pro.
is there a way that like, raw data, which unit recorded what on what date is transcoded?

But... but... this discriminates against people who use a Contour HD.

I think allowing any POV camera is going to lead to much better results in the end...

Just to be clear, it does not matter to me that this is limited to GoPro. I really just want to see a sick maggot contest that we can help with a bit. If the contest is better by having other cams then I think we could go that way. Really I prefer you guys to set the parameters and I will do what I can to help. If it is best to just get 10 cameras and have the travelling of them be part of it then we should do that, if not then lets do it different.

Imo, if you have more people with cameras filming, and as a result get more footage, you're probably going to end up with more good shots and a better end product, so it makes no sense to limit it to one brand of camera. Obviously the kind of camera you use plays into the quality of what you record though, so to some extent the GoPro footy (which is generally pretty good) is better. Contour is pretty much on par with them though from what I've seen. Just my .02.
