This could be a bring back the summits sort of thing, too...

Certain dates for each region where someone could bring the cam to a certain resort, and pass it around through out the day.

Not sure if I qualify as a maggette or not, but I would be down to organize some parking lot BBQs in the PNW for said days.

I wasn't around in the days of the summits, and that makes me sad... so bring them back!

This idea has developed some serious legs and support. Dibs is rolling with tons o' schwag from a budding list of sponsors for skiers in the winning regional segment. At least it's where the idea is at now. sfb is looking for ideas from everyone on the best way to organize this contest. TGR420 is donating GoPros or the equivalent thereof. Maybe some summit footie will be had to boot. Maybe everything compiled to make the maggot movie.

oh, yeah, dibs is looking for a ghostwriter for any official correspondence to potential spancers and those who speak english.

I myself think it should be as much maggot as possible Team Utard isnt gonna just throw another go pro on jamie pierre as long as I have a say.
I think that while it may limit the overall quality of final productions the stoke in this particular contest should come from a level playing feild of a single go pro
So crackhead doesnt get the helicam back in action and dominate. it should be about editing, ability to bring the lutz, icemanesque maggotly weirdness some gnar, some hate, boobies, quality skiing and mother fuckin irl maggot interaction to create stoke using a simple gadget.
If there is enough cams for multiple east coast states or ID and MT Tahoe vrs mammoth or Canada or Europe Japan the more the betters but IDK
As to whether I kneed to spell check and type on a pc that doesnt have broken keys and whore swag/prizes from all corners of the ski world. IDK

I say the cam spends X amount of time at each place, and in that time (say two weeks or so) that crew throws down hard then keeps their footy to edit into an alotted amount of time then sends the cleared cam to the next place on the list. If, say, there's a huge dump happening somewhere that doesn't normally get hammered, that crew goes to the front of the line to catch the moment. At the end of the season, all footy is submitted to the site and could then be assembled on a page for the masses to watch or made into one giant mashup... But I'm down for anything. I can get some peeps together out east for some shenanigans no doubt.

I'd love to try to give you westies a run for your stoke money, you might have the bigger terrain but nobody has more fun than us!

It depends how good you want it to get. When I make a video, I try to edit, but it's still just ok. I agree with splat, time2clibs's suggestion in the FKNA thread is good. 10 min. max (even 5) should be in the rules. It's not going to be easy to get a "master editor", and a lot of "film" will wind up on the floor. Also, what to do about desired music to go with the carnage. Me, I like old school...Freebird, Heroin, Mountain Jam...
Also, there should be some segments with fart bags, '80s steeze and even purple high$$$$$ barney pants to add some color...

Teams of ~7 mags as many teams per state or region as you want 10 to 15 min edit - 30 for sponsers.
Id like to get as many sponser shout outs in as I think if the contest gains popularity, Comp lift tickets and other swag should be rewarded without turning it into a rolling advertisement.

Trying to find the line between having a great contest with cool swag/prizes for playing and turning it into a facebook who has the most freinds and can exploit the social marketing system for votes.

POV clarification: can one mag be at the bottom looking back up with the helmet cam to film another mag? Or must all eligible shots be POV of the skier/rider?
