What did you find today t2c?

If you are looking for specific beta on that whole area then it's best left to pm's. All I will say over the broadcast-a-net is there are alot of lines that do not go that look like they do from the top and some of them terrain trap at the bottom. We bailed on that idea all together today due to poor vis in the a.m. We went some where else instead which turned out to be quite nice.

On that note, if any of you want a good time, if only just to do once...come tearing out of the woods to the Lake Louise shoreline (the actual Lake / Chateau) in full ski gear, helmet goggles and all and then keep your momentum up and skate your way back to the parking lot through the hordes of tourists....what a trip. Looking at the reactions / horror / full confusion and people swinging cameras your way is fucking hilarious. Wish I was wearing my gopro.

Guessing all bets are off for a while if there's decent snow overnight

It was pretty windy where we were and lots of snow was being transported, i'd keep a pretty close eye on the wind also.

Haha you didn't come skiing down the trail/path that goes up to the Lake Agnes Tea House did you? Now that I think about it that might be pretty fun, could probably get some good speed through the forest and have fun trying to get around the switch backs.

lol...yeah we used the trail to exit. A few people coming up etc but the fun part was skating through the hordes on the lake shore by the Chateau, they didn't know wtf was going on lol.

I don't know how to put lines on google earth.

I just use the path length calculator. Really helps when you need some crazy idea for the day.

Well thanks all you Golden locals for staying away The lines up today were no where near as long as they could have been, even managed to get a few laps in!
The "4" cm they reported skied very nice today, enough to move around and almost, sometimes, made you kind of, forget what was underneath. Since the locals were not around, all the obvious stashes were wide open for the taking.
All in all I would have to say the hundreds of buddies of mine and their kids had a great day!
Now back to your regular scheduled programming...

Today was rad, you're right 2stix the stashes - and even some pretty obvious lines - were untouched all day. I think about 10 people took thier skis off to walk somewhere all day.

Looks like my weeks of hyping up the family day shit show to all the first year local bums really payed off.

I can't believe I forgot, did you get a hold of the hats today? Black Stetsons for the staff! I couldn't figure out if they were trying to make fun of us from Calgary, or If this is the "new look"? The were even playing honky tonk country music is the main lodge this morning! It was like I was walking into some weird winter stampede or something. Anybody know what's up?

So I skied SSV for my first time today, damn KH has spoiled me. Parking is ridiculous, it's damn hard to get any real vertical in because of the lifts, the hill is in general so damn flat, you have to skate all over the place, wind transport is insane, blasted down to rock, and then just this not very pleasant mank where there's a snow fence.

Wish I could've checked out WW and the dive, then I might have a better opinion, but jeez.

Sounds like booter building is on the agenda tomorrow. Or if there's epic powder, getting my elbows sharpened up for the lift line.

2stix- hats were not there on friday. I didn't see any happy hat wearing, just glum guys. Must've been from upper management or something to kill the stoke like that

There was an option of a lap down the ?? glacier behind from the summit.

Something relevant from the MCR tonight:

Skied up Cirque Creek between Cirque and Observation today.

120-150 cm of snow with no significant weak layers and no shears in a mostly facetted snowpack. 6 cm of new snow lies atop surface hoar on shaded slopes and surface hoar on a suncrust on south aspects.

As with everywhere else in the Rockies anything windward is pretty much wind-schralped. The skiing is pretty good on lee aspects and sheltered areas but thin and rocky on exposed terrain.

Im going to be up at kicking horse on tuesday, anyone want to play tour guide?

Surprise surprise RCR has removed the jump from the Wrangle the Chute Competition. Maybe they can hit a sick rail at the end....

Yup, well aware of that. But I'm not sure why the cowboy hats? Is it their some what miss guided interpretation that Alberta is a bunch of red neck, cowboy hat wearing crowd, and they just want to be like us? I honestly can't see the joke part, and think odds are, it is their new look, but the obvious irony is hard to miss.

Watched in disbelief today as a crew of three morons skied the Nozone closure. Dumb if done 'right' but these guys did it all at once with no packs and a large group of bystanders in the slide path. I was pretty scared they were going to break off a chunk of that gnarly cornice, leaving me and whoever else nearby had avy gear on body recovery duty.

God I can't wait for the tourists to go home.

I can't believe I am going to say this, but Louise today skied way better then the Horse yesterday. First day in a while I've been able to open up to near full speed inbounds... still super variable though. Looks like it snowed/snowing at home right now though....

Just checked env canada's maps and its looking like there could be two good days to pound moguls at sunshine this week. Lift tickets.

SSV is the only place I can think of that even has decent moguls that arent part of a pro course.

this! Heard the dive was good today . It was sking great on V day so im guessing if it keeps snowing it should be pretty good tmrw

Did they actually get 17? Using my usual SSV math of moving the decimal place over one place holder, that leaves them at 1.7cm. Can an actual human confirm? Not planning on going to SSV, but it might affect my touring plans this week if there was indeed 17cm in that area...

The resort skied pretty shitty first thing considering the numbers. Didn't feel like 17 and super variable anyway - no surprise given the shit lurking beneath after the recent drought. The West and the Dive were the complete opposite though. Both were skiing excellently and there was barely any traffic at all. Again it seemed like locals stayed at home to let the gapers run amok which meant we had fresh lines all day on one of the busiest wknds of the year. Weird but very, very welcome. It will still coming down when I left at 5.30, there will be good skiing to be had for days now thank fuck.
