would love to see this guy in a debate, he's like the righty weiner (heh heh) - super smart and enough of a doosh to make things interesting

i kind of wonder what might happen if we had a pres flex our military muscle in a smart way again like reagan sometimes did

Every time I see him talk he's the smartest guy in the room. But I have only seen him talk about foreign policy and the UN.

The fact that he was in the UN and HATES the UN makes him my kinda guy.

He must know he can't win....Positioning for Secretary of State?

i said reagan because you have to go that far back to find a pres who made SOME smart foreign policy decisions

Seems to me that the evidence is that Bolton is genuinely nuts. I mean full on insane. As I mentioned the other day - go read up on what he did to Thielman and the truth. Including deliberate withholding of information from folks like Colin Powell.

Thousands of americans are dead (more than 9/11) or disabled, and hundreds of billions (at least) of borrowed dollars have been flushed courtesy of Bolton and a small circle of "friends". With the USA being less safe for it. If there was any justice in the world, Bolton would be rotting in Gitmo waiting to be tried for treason. He was a key participant in a march to war that included total and deliberate misleading of congress.

It goes on and on with that guy.

Still, it would not shock me if he was being staged for a Cheney style VP gig...

While I suspect it is unlikely -- if Bolton is ever elected POTUS or VP, it will be time to throw in the towel on the US.

Bolton was a member of the Project for a New American Century, the neo-conservative group that advocated for the overthrough of Iraq. Like I said, look to Iraq to see how he would make military decisions.

i have no doubt he was for the overthrow of hussein, before 9/11 I'm sure

that doesnt mean he would have prosecuted the war the same way, which was the biggest problem with the iraq war. i think he's a lot smarter than those guys, and he's certainly less concerned with covering his ass at the expense of correct decisions than rummy is
