I think the rant was pretty brilliant. That's what this country needs, some anger.
I think you have me confused with someone who is far less awesome.
whoa, awesomeness at it's best

Can we vote for him? Problem is, the lobbyists would get their hands on him, and he would never sound like that again.
Since this mess started shaping up, I have said one thing:
If something good comes out of this, I hope that it is a viable 3rd party choice in 2012. Not Teabaggers, not some republican/democrat hybrid bullshit artist, but a real, tell it like it is candidate that is straight down the middle. A guy that supports abortion rights, but also believes in small gov't. A lady that wants some form of social medicine, but also realizes that cramming it down people's throats is a bad approach.
Until the lobbyists are tossed out of Washington, this will never happen. Maybe Ron Paul is my only hope. God help us.
WoW! this is going to go politikal quick....
can i wrong forum a legend of the padded room???? aww fuck it, its summer.....
WRONG FORUM JONG!!!!!!!!!!

Well said... Money and politics is the root of all evil. I'm not even sure any of the members of Congress, actually truly believe in some of the positions they take, but they realize they must take said positions because if they don't they'll lose the monetary support, I'm also not sure the people they represent truly believe, or even understand the positions there leaders tell them to support, but it is some sort of vicious cycle, where leaders are bought, they tell there people what to think, the people reelect them, and so it goes, I'm certain there is so much money being offered to these people from big companies, lobbyists, etc, that even the most noble and idealistic are soon corrupted, when those money bags start showing up, all bets are off. As much I support Obama, and will be going down with the "ship", he does need to do what that guy suggested, say "Fuck you all, I'm taking charge of this, and I'm using every single loop hole, constitutional power, to force change down your fucking throats". For as much I ABSOLUTELY HATE George Bush, at least he drew a line in the fucking sand and said, "This is where I stand and fuck you all if you don't agree"
Do I detect a lot of anger flowing around this place? Kind of like a pubescent volatility, some angst, a lot of I'm-sixteen-and-angry-at-my-father syndrome?
fuck that noise.
gmen.
He did this often. For as much as people hated him for it, it made him presidential. At least we had a pretty good idea of who was pulling the strings. I have yet to understand where
Obama is coming from. Seems like he is the puppet to so many, that he is constantly being pulled in every direction at once. End of story- Dude needs to Sack up and be the President of the United States of America.
That was great. I'd love to see Obama do this. He won't.
I've wanted to see a third party for awhile. The teabaggers are a third party, but not the one I wanted. The problem is the Republicans follow the teabaggers and we are back to two parties.
Dude speaks the fuckin' truth.
The best things in life aren't things.
Nah, don't be naiive. The Tea Party is just tool to rebrand the republican party. Neither party today would allow a viable third party to form if it did not benefit them in some way.
Video was excellent. Until money & politics are separated there will be no democratic system. Going into politics should be like going into a public defender position or teaching in an inner city school; you aren't going to make shit, but serving others should be the reason you go into it.
Politics has changed from personal gain for the benefit of the many to personal gain for the benefit of the few or even the individual. Disgusting.

well, he is good enough...he is smart enough...buuuuuuuut...
I am just REALLY glad that corporations are now free to spend unlimited amounts of cash to sway elections.

Justice Stevens' dissent:
"At bottom, the Court's opinion is thus a rejection of the common sense of the American people, who have recognized a need to prevent corporations from undermining self government since the founding, and who have fought against the distinctive corrupting potential of corporate electioneering since the days of Theodore Roosevelt. It is a strange time to repudiate that common sense. While American democracy is imperfect, few outside the majority of this Court would have thought its flaws included a dearth of corporate money in politics."
