Got my BCs on Monday, blown away by the build quality. Fantastic looking ski. Mounting em up with Dynafits tonight, hopefully the end result looks like Schralphs

My dads BC's are still sitting in the box due to lack of snow. I can't wait to get him set up on them, I think they're going to bring his pow skiing to another level. Can't wait.
.....I hope you know that this will go down on your permanent record

Gonna try touring these this year. I was hoping they would be a true 183 but they measure about 180.5. I had 186 Billygoats last year and it was a bit much for touring. These seem tiny in comparison, nice and light though. I'm not super aggro but I do weigh about 180#'s. As others have said quality is awesome. Psyched!

Ok, Canadian customs needs to flipping hurry up! They've been sitting there for two days! It's a pair of skis for feck sake not a rocket launcher. Stamp em and ship em out!!
Now I gotta come up with a reason not to shell out for the Kidwoo specials...

Picked up some Concepts for a trip to Europe/Everyday ski. Lots of really nice looking skis at the shop. Tough to choose between them all. Great work by Keith, Kevin and the crew over there.
Kidwoos skis sounds nice although the praxis quiver is already filling out.

Got the RX's today! BPS graphic FTW! It's spectacular in person. Kind of metallic. Can't get it to come across in pics. Couldn't be happier.
What I am wondering is mount point on these. The dot is ~102 from the tip straight pull. Seems to me some where talking about this being a bit forward?
I know, SEARCH JONG! I did but couldn't find much other than Jim S saying his where at 104 I think. I know RX's are old hat around here but can anyone chime in? Should I stop being so OCD and just put em on the line?
FWIW I'm 6'4" 180lbs in b-day suit, with a 336bsl (size 29.5), fast and aggressive, don't go backwards on purpose and will be skiing them inbounds mostly in the western Canadian rockies and Revelstoke (i.e. more non-powder days than powder days).

I'd almost call the BPS graphic "mother of pearlish" especially in the golden sky portion

I thought there was some talk of Keith moving the mounting points back but if anything mine are a hair short of 102.
Seems to me that big feet = ball of foot farther forward = should move mount point back a bit.
Maybe I'll just leave them as is and go faster

^^^ In a way, it is. When the RX first came out, the recommended mounting range was something silly like 98-102. I don't recall reading any reviews or comments where someone had them mounted at less than 102.
Maybe you've already done this, but as a suggestion, you could compare where some of your other skis are mounted. Anyway, I don't think you'll be sad at 102, especially if you're prioritizing non-powder performance. We heard you in our twilight caves, one hundred fathom deep below, for notes of joy can pierce the waves, that drown each sound of war and woe.

Yeah, that's pretty much the case.
I did try putting them next to my current daily drivers which are 2006/7 new-old stock 194 Dynastar LP's. They have a pretty traditional mount and when you line up the centers they're not that far off when it comes to effective edge. Of course the Praxis effective edge is kind of up to interpretation with the early rise, but to counter that the Praxis also have much softer tails than the LP's so it's probably a wash. I typically ski pretty centered so I think I may just go with on the line.
At the end of the day, I want to make these my new daily drivers. So no, I'm not prioritizing powder at all, however these are the widest skis I have ever owned so they will be a huge improvement in powder anyway. PSA: 06 super stiff LP's do not float. Ever.

preparing to mount some dukes on my 183 bps's
has anyone mounted and skied theirs yet?
Looked at my 188 S7's next to them and the 183 BPS mount point seems far enough back that I'm pretty comfortable mounting on the sidewall dimple
I'm at -2 cm on my S7's and like it
I know they are different skis, so I'm not too stressed about going with Keith's recommended mount point (which have generally gone farther back than in the past).
any info?Aggressive in my own mind

we got our bps's and powder boards and they rock !
I'm thrilled about the built quality, as usual (and we own praxis for quite a long time... go take a look at the quiver thread)
those skis are a ton of fun. you have to try them to understand !
200 powder boards are as easy to move as 185. check. tight forest definitely no worries. at full throttle you'll make them shine!
and those bps ! they're safer than powder boards (on groomers, you may say that's a con) compound camber is a masterpiece. I go fast on those boards I love them!

Skied 183s mounted at +.5 the other day. Seemed like a good spot... Probably anything in the range of the dimple to +1 or so would be peachy for most folks, depending on your preferences and particulars (me = 200+ pounds, 317 BSL, not especially aggressive - yeah, I know, I should be banished for saying that...).
FWIW, I've also skied the big ones mounted +1 a tiny bit under meh conditions - so the comparison may not be entirely fair. But that is a big ski - as reflected in the radius differences, etc. in the specs... Feels to me like the 183 is the more general mess about ski & the big one is a big lines kind of ski. Regardless of your size - unless you are somewhere in the way big or way small zone, or are an uber strong driver. Both sizes have plenty of surface area. The short one feels a lot more nimble.

Thanks for the reference points
i'm 5'8" (173 cm) and 165 lbs (75 kg)
bsl is 292 in titan/295 in lange rx130
comparing 183 bps at dimple on sidewall there is more tip and tail than my 188 s7 mounted at -2 cm
