Banff Mags-Some insider Stoney Squaw trail info please!
Paging mntlion, Alex.C, whoever...
So rode Upper/Lower Stoney Squaw for the first time this weekend, much funner ride than expected. On Upper Stoney, I got to the first peak and there was a mishmash of little trails. Quickly figured out which was the main trail but liked the look of the technical bits heading down the ridge so went for a quick 10minute exploratory mission. Rode well and got to a junction with 3 different trails leading off.
Do they all ride well to the bottom? Any recommendations on the juicy technical goods?
Or are they just hiking trails to scenic outlooks?
If locals are discouraging the riding of these, feel free to let me know, or PM me, or whatever, but yeah looks fun that way so any info appreciated.

just keep going up to the main summit, (on the main hiking trail) and then keep going down then backside. dont come back down the hiking trail.
the others are sometimes bikeable (but closed) and odds are you will run into lots of downed trees, etc.

also ross lake, and moraine lake highline (in lake louise) are clear of snow, not closed due to bears, and trail crew has been thru to remove deadfall. Go get them too.
