    My Bicycle Art

(By popular demand, I have been asked to start my own thread on this...)

Other quality 'art' cheese-trays range all over the board, from $25-$250 dollars.
These took some time and thought, are very durable, high quality, and I think) machine washable (but not recommended). I wouldn't try it with the clock, obviously.

I can do custom designs, of course, with the chainrings, chains, cogs, etc. of your choosing or request.

I will also be making matching knives with bonded chain as the handle.

my goal is for these to be elegant, and not just for the hardcore cyclist as I find different materials that have interesting geometric designs.

I am thinking ~$59 for the trays , and $35 for the knife (custom blades available for more, Henkels, Hoffritz, etc).

    So blast away, or order!

(I know the pics kinda suck, I just wanted to get some up)

I also will be doing picture frames as soon as I source wood.
    So go ahead, blast away!
    More to come...

    Latest finished project...

Everything is recycled, (except for the clock motor). The LED's are from worn out kid's light up shoes, and the power supply is from a car phone charger. The bolts are Presta valves.

The tape has been replaced by wood veneer.

The wires are painted to match the walls (nearly invisible) or easily disconnect and hide in the clock.

I have 6 or so other things in the pipeline, more pics to come.

[QUOTE=rideit;575339]Here is a little guest room clock with a wrench arm. I like the design element a lot.

What I need now is a professional photographer...

    Business card holders/gallery notes

    Note the recycled backing

Check out the pressure device to keep cards in:

Check out the numbers, bent out of salvaged spokes!

Some random pics of tonight's projects.

Above clock, lit up (and notice the chain 1/2 link 'numbers') It's hard to tell in these crappy pics, but the cherry inset really pops with this clock. Warms it up a bit, IMO

Business card holders, not the pop-top 'spring' to hold cards in place.
This is designed to mount on a wall, next to one of my other pieces as a price display and description of the piece and it's 'story', if it has one.
Various screws and bolts for these are salvaged from trashed Dell laptops.
Spacers in-between cogs are chain rollers, the front cog is cut in (sort of) 1/3's, if it doesn't show.

This I am working on, going to weld the rear support cog at an angle, this will also function as a small picture frame facing towards you on your desk.
The front facing out is in this pic, the smaller (front) cog will be cut in 1/2 (kinda like the above one) in order to show the cards better. Note the 'polished' steel cogs. The chains will be cut shorter and might even match. Or not.

Prices will range depending on materials, time, and a few other factors. I will be starting the rotor clocks at $125, and the more elaborate pieces will go up from there. I am open to custom, feel free to ask quotes for something specific. These look 'simple' by design, but there actually is quite a bit of time that goes into each one.

Goddam, I wish babies were not so expensive. I dig the clocks, and the price is fair, I just can't spend that kind of coin right now.

Will definitely be ordering one of these. Awesome work. They sound like they belong in my shed/workshop. They look, however, like they belong inside the house, which is definitely where it will go.

The blues has always been about taking your problems and turning them into something you can dance to, drink to and fuck to.
We're certainly not a blues band in any kind of purest sense, but to me Rock and Roll has always had it's roots in that tradition.

So, here is my latest. I was up till 2:30 last night fine tuning it. This baby took a LOOONG time to conceptualize, grind, cut, sand, finish, epoxy, and fine tune, (2-3 days?) but I think it is my most refined piece to date. I don't know if it looks like fireballs or duckheads flying backwards, you decide, I guess.

I can also put in any headset top cap in the middle, so you can put a piece of your bike up that I am sure you looked at a LOT during many, many adventures. Definitely pushes forward the customization of this project. (you could also supply the rotor and cogs, end even chainring bolts to have it be super custom).

Hey HOP, the next one will have 6 flying whales!
