The Global Jihad angle appears to be a hoax (maybe on the part of God Like Productions)? I read the NY Times story in your link and none of the red quoted text appears in the article.

Turns out white Christian conservatives CAN be terrorists. Who woulda figured.

My RED text was cut and pasted directly from the NY Times article I linked to. Looks like the NY Times altered their online article after they realised it was a hoax. Talk to them pal.

I read the story shortly after you posted it so if the NY Times did redact the Global Jihad angle then the timing was nearly perfect; or you got the quoted text from another source.

You've posted stuff here before from the The Blaze where the story is still up along with a Fox News take that says “It is a classic terrorist effort,” Bolton said. “Without anyone taking responsibility for it or any definitive evidence we can’t say for sure but it sure looks like Islamic terrorism.” Commenter’s on The Blaze are still calling for a new crusade a day later (this time with nukes) in spite of the fact that we now know it was a homegrown terrorist — un-ironically echoing the sentiments of the shooter by calling for war with Islam.

Initially, I was simply curious about where the Jihadist story came from only to discover that in spite of new information contradicting the old information the old erroneous story still holds sway with a certain audience.
