I'm glad they brought back the TTT. That is a fun event to watch, especially when done well.

Only one time trial?

There's only 1 individual TT on the second to last day. There is no prologue TT this year, which I kindof like because it means we'll have a different story at the beginning than what we seem to every year, which is "Cancellara in yellow, but how many days will he be able to protect it?" I'd love to see Sylvain Chavanel solo to victory in Stage 1 and keep the jersey for a bit. Let the French have something to cheer about for a change.

So there really is only one TT. Bummer.
Thanks for the info.
Kind of agree with you on the yearly cancellera show. Especially with that motor he runsBesides the comet that killed the dinosaurs nothing has destroyed a species faster than entitled white people.-ajp

Gilbert will spend time in yellow this year. I predict two stage victories including possibly stage 1.

^^^ Sanchez has never tested positive.
I thought Court of Arbitration for Sport was going to rule on Contador's doping in last year's TdF before this Tour started. Now they are waiting until August. Buncha pussies

Horner will be lucky to get a top 10.

Good listing - except for Tony Martin who won't be among top 20. But he'll be all in for the time trial.

Sorry, but Basso doesn't have it.
Chris Horner however took 10th last year after he finally got the permission to do something besides hold Lance's hand. He will absolutely be in the top 10 again this year with the form he is showing.
Also Cadel Evans will be there. Probably top 5.
Gilbert will take stage 4.Training for Alpental

what happened to the versus site? Was trying to set up the tour contest we've had the last few years but can't find it anywhere.

No time bonuses for stage finishes? Is this the first time?

Looks like the Versus site has been gobbled up into the main NBC site, but there is a "fantasy" league here: http://velogames.com/
I went ahead and set up a league, if anybody's interested:
League Name: Maggots
League Code: 29182227The Sheriff is near!

I don't follow road racing much but I'm probably most excited about Tom Danielson finally getting into the tour for Garmin/Cervelo. Really nice, hard working guy who's had some bad luck since hitting the big time and moving to Europe.
Danielson is the current record holder on the Mt Evans hill climb, by a four minute margin, and the Mt Washington hill climb, which he took from Tyler Hamilton. He also unofficially tied the record for the Iron Horse Classic on his home turf in Durango. Unofficially because the race start moved but he was officially recognized for it and awarded a $2K bonus which he donated to a scholarship fund set up in his name.
Danielson is a climbing specialist and a strong time trialer. Other notable accomplishments include a Tour de Georgia win in '05, a stage win at the Vuelta a Espana in '06. Unfortunately since then he's had some promising efforts dashed by injury and illness until his 9th place overall finish in the Vuelta last year. Glad to see he's still at it though, and looking strong this year. He just took 3rd overall in the Tour of California last month behind winner Chris Horner and 2nd place Levi Leiphiemer.
Garmin/Cervelo is packed with talent and Danielson's role will be supporting but I'm hoping to see some good things from him and maybe even a stage win.
