Hosting a TGR film
I have begun setting up a viewing for this year's TGR film. Anyone have experience here? I've contacted TGR and they are awesome in getting things going. Just wondered if there were some do's and do not's gained from experience to make it as good as it should be.

I would try to get contact info for Hudie and/or Hamby from the folks at TGR (they are good peeps). They have been pretty much running the tour and dealing with this shit for years. They would be as good a source as any! Also, make sure you don't run out of beer, get the biggest/best screen possible and get capacity locked down. I've never been in the position to set them up, I've always been a casual observe from the inside looking out.
Good luck... premiere's are so goddamn fun!I think you have me confused with someone who is far less awesome.

get in touch with a local shop/company reps to get some schwag kicked your way. having lots of stuff to give away is always a nice touch.

you have to market the shit out of the event. don't just think that because its TGR, people will show up. you may not have to spend a lot, but it will be a lot of work.
pound the pavement at locals shops, campuses, etc. get the event listed in as many online calendars as you can. get a local shop to sell tickets. use facebook and forums.
TGR should schwag you out for the event.
what is the venue? theatre, bar, on campus, etc?Cheap gear for Mags at Backcountry Freeskier
