TRI - Bobby Weir's New Project
If you are a Dead fan and follow what's happening in the scene you prolly already know about TRI Studios. If you haven't checked out the site yet, do so!
http://www.tristudios.com/
Some cool shit on the video archive page!
For those that don't know about this project... Bobby got together with a host of other talent and some folks in the Dead family to put together a new state of the art, performance style studio. The catch is they are filming and streaming some of the sessions for the public. Some will be pay-per-view. They have some content available to watch now for no charge. Furthur will be in there on June 7th! I think they are getting $20 for that performance though...a little steep if you ask me....but I will likely find myself sucked into paying anyway.

Wow, the "Let it Grow" is amazing. Thanks, now it looks like I will be spending $20 also.

The quality is ridiculous, love th LIG, Black Throated Wind (so clean) and the Sugaree but since i have stubs from GD shows that cost $12.00 I cant see shelling out $20 to stream a show I can listen to for free the next day (assuming a torrent pops up, which always do).
Heard an acoustic Let it Grow on Sirius and the playing was just so nice, love a copy of that if anyone has it.

nice find! the West LA Fadeaway with the horns and cello. killer low end! the quality as stated above is truly ridiculous. thanks for sharing. yeah, i still have my $9 lawn stub that i purchased at the box office day of show SPAC '84. twenty bones seems a bit pricy.

Looks like they are putting up a free weekly tune or part of a session. "The Other One" is this weeks offering. Check it out!

Definitely. I think there will be a lotta bugs to work out with on the biz and bandwidth side but I can see this really taking shape for those guys. Especially if they can get some other groups of musicians in there and offer some "affordable" subscriptions. Seeing a whole furthur set is cool as is Bobby playing with the his "Friends" but a little variety would be awesome.
I'm hooked but need to find some way to see this on the TV.

Anyone see Furthur last night?

I didn't but it sounds like it was great.
Some tech troubles and bitching on FB about that but I bet it was good. It's cool to see them up so close, Jeff continues to amaze me.

just watched the 'Jack Straw' from Further. it fucking rocks! aside from Phil's horrific vocal delivery, thankfully he only sings two lines. Bob's vocals however, are awesome. why Phil on this and not John?

I felt the same way. Phil does seem to be singing a bit less these days....or maybe I have just been tuning him out while listening to recent Furthur shows. His voice has really gone south.
All in all they hit it on that one! Much better than Rider.

Phil never could sing.
Putting the "core" in corporate, one turn at a time.

"Wake Up Little Susie" up on www.tristudios.com . Bobby and Chris Robinson. Pretty damn good but wouldn't mind hearing just Robinson on vocals.
Looking forward to next week!

Another update to the site:
KC Moan from Bobby is the next installment. Pretty good but my least favorite of the single stuff on the Vid section. Can't say I am a fan of the cheesy shit at the beginning. It kinda has the feel of a MTV video, (not sure MTV even does that stuff anymore???).
Slightly Stupid is playing TRI Studios on 9/13! That should be fun. Hopefully they have the bugs worked out. I will give it a shot if it's under $25. Anyone in JH then is welcome to view at my place if you give me, (my Wife), warning.

Bump.
Lots of cool shit since the last time I posted re: TRI. Free, live Ratdog, (Lots of quality musicians with this line-up), playing on January 25th.
They have posted a bunch of other video segments on the site as well. I dig all of 'em but I could see that some appeal to specific tastes in music. Either way, this joint is really doing amazing work. Check it out!Last edited by schwerty; 01-07-2012 at 07:10 AM.

I started to really like Bob when I got the LP ACE. Saw some shows during this tour in 77' and was inspired to get into singing.
