Spinal Tap in Utah
With plenty of snow in the mountains around Jackson and a brand new HD sitting in my house I've been itching to get out and ride. I met some friends in Grand Junction last weekend for some awesome riding before solo time exploring new (to me) parts of Utah.
Here is some GoPro footie from the first ride of the day on Tuesday. So SO much fun! The spines weren't techie but I definitely held back (read: did not turn it up to 11) not wanting to overshoot any of the corners. I'll get the footage together from the other two locations soon.
Oh yea- it's a large HD currently built up with a DHX 4.0 coil and Talas 180, XT drivetrain, Formulas, Iodines, Joplin, etc. I'm loving it!

SJ, How are you liking the Talas compared to your old 66? I'm working on a similar build on a '11 One. I'd like the Talas, but it's hard to give up the feel of a coil.

I have done very, very little to the fork so far- and its killing it. I weigh 165 and have adjusted rebound & compression to my liking, but haven't yet played with pressure. My 66 had a "bouncier" rebound, the Talas is more controlled, in an improved way. I'll let you know how it goes- and you can feel free to try it out sometime, shoot me a PM. Also, I've used it at the 140 setting for about 10 seconds...it climbs fine (in my view) at full height- for what its worth.

Only way that could have been better is if it was set to "Big Bottoms."
