Thumbs up Blurreds Dynafit compatible Full Tilt boot

Got the boot done.....stoked! Super bomber, and super solid. Used some of the hardware from a BD Factor, I'll be posting a how-to thread on the whole process here soon.

This boot needs to have the cuff and what not put back on, but you get the picture.

Looks nice. Are you planning to tour heavily with these and, if so, will they have a walk mode? If not, why not just use Dukes? Or was this just for shits?

Walk mode is stupid. Low cuff boots are stupid too. That's why I had to build my own.

AFAIC, the only good things about AT boots are vibram and low weight of dynafit bindings.

I put them in walk mode by loosening the buckles.

Would you rather hike in ski boots, or ski in sneakers?

I ski for the downhill, not the uphill.

I knew you would be in Dynafits at some point. All it took was a broken sled.

    Pretty cool...
    Well done.

Though my old ass prefers to have a walk mode if just to be able to relax my legs by standing up straight.

^^ sorry. I love garage engineering. I think this is a nice counterpoint to all the neon one piece rando race gram weenies. Been trying for a long time now (along with other people) to tell AT boot manufacturers that there's people who want beef boots and are willing to make their own if the manufacturers don't do it. It's great to see mods from marshal, blurred, hoji etc. Looking forward to the Diy article

Looks like the potential is there. I'd like to see some pics of the final product. How fucking thick is the liner gonna be, cause it looks like the screws sticking threw the bottom would be felt?

I was going to ask you about that in the other thread. Looks good, any worries about breaking the bolts while scrambling on rocks? Im looking at doing something similar with a pair of my boots so instructions would be appreciated even though the boots are different.

SteepConcrete has it right-FT's have a rubber/plastic footbed that will cover the nuts/bolts.
Used the BD toe hardware, so no nuts in the toebox.
Someone mentioned snow sticking to the bolt heads...if that was an issue, I'd just cover them with a teflon/plastic spray. Bo biggie.

Abraham, def not worried about these burly bolts braking. Even if one did, there's plenty of them not to matter. If one did break, I'd just finish the day and repair it when I got home.

Damon, that's sick! What kind of hardware did you use? Did you use epoxy to seal the toe/heel?
