Scarpa Maestrale sizing
Trying to figure out what size to wear in Scarpa Maestrale, I'm having a hard time believing their chart which with a shoe size 10 almost puts me in a 29
http://it.scarpa.net/shared/i/sizing_chart.jpg
I always wear 10 never 9.5 or 10.5. My foot is a bit narrow, with bit of a higher arch. I'm guessing I'm probably a 28 in in Maestrales which is what charts at retailers who sell this boot show.
I currently wear Garmont Radiums in a 27.5 which while a little more snug that I'd like on the toes (about one finger behind the heel on shell check), do fit. I realize it varys between manufacturers but 28.5 or 29 still sounds just huge.
Last, can anyone confirm it the 27.5/28 Maestrales have a 314 sole? I hope so as my Radiums are 315, so will work out nicely with my Dynafits if I get a 28.
thanks

Looks like a Euro chart, not sure if you want that? For US sizing, check out the chart on Scarpa's website.
http://www.scarpa.com/scarpa/control...ourceId=700076
I'm a US 9.5 with a pretty tight fit in 25.5/26.0's (BSL 297).
You probably want the 26.5/27.0's, maybe the 27.5/28's for a roomier fit. Try them on.

Maybe not that helpful, but my 28.5 Maestrales have 322 mm soles, so you would be fine on your Dynas I would think unless they are speeds. The Maestrale fits true to size on length. Just measure your foot. Heel to the wall, slightly weighted, how long is your foot?

I dunno what shell you need other than to say try a shell fit but 2 things to consider
a scarpa 27.5 and a 28 are the same shell whereas other boot makers would go with a 27 and 27.5 being the same shell
english sizing is 1 lower than U.S.

appreciate the replies. and doh yeh I was looking at the euro chart the US one linked is what I needed.
My foot measures about 271 mm or 10.6692 inches which converts to just a hair under US size 10 per:
http://www.brannock.com/cgi-bin/star...ck/charts.html
Then according to Scarpas chart that puts me in a 27 or the 26.5/27 shell assuming the chart is accurate.
I'm guessing BSL probably around 305 which should still work with my Dynafit FT 12s. I have also have Garmont Megarides 27.5 which are 305 and there's enough adjustment.
I'll probably give those a try then. thanks again for the help

Sounds about right. I wear a 10 street shoe, and would have bought a 26.5/27.0 shell in the Maestrale. BSL is 306mm.

I'm a 10.5 to 11 street shoe and in the Scarpa T1 tele boots I have skied a 27.5 this year, which was very snug and tight in toes this fall, but now wish I had a 26.5/27 shell.

I'm a 12 street shoe (euro 46) and wearing the 27.5/28. It's a performance fit but I have no comfort issues from it. I was swimming in the next shell up. Can confirm it's 314mm.

I believe the boots are 8mm difference between sizes:
26.5/27.0 = 306mm (confirmed to me; have a pair on the way)
27.5/28.0 = 314mm (as confirmed above)
28.5/29.0 = 322mm (as confirmed above)
so 29.5/30.0 = 330mm
