    Puerta Vallarta

Heading to PV in mid-May to chase Dorado and Marlin with my dad and his buddy who keeps a boat down there. Very excited.
    A few questions:
    - what do I need to do to get a fishing license before I go down?
    - what else should we fish for in those waters at that time of year?
    - what bait/lures have you had the best results with?

I know my dad's buddy will have his answers to most of those questions, but if you guys have ideas or thoughts that may be different it just may increase my odds of bringing in more fish. Also, it may decrease my odds of looking like a dumbass.

Any other suggestions, thoughts, or recommendations for this trip are appreciated.

Depending on your dad's buddy's experience, you might consider hiring a guide for a half day your first day there...probably the best way to get a jump on the learning curve. Might as well catch a roosterfish while you're there! Sending PM...

    PM rec'd - thanks Khakis!

Anybody else have suggestions for me on this trip?
What's the smart way to deal with fishing licenses? I can get those here in the US before I head south, right? If so, How?
