    Mountains are a lot nicer when you climb them - especially if they don't have helicopters buzzing around the summit.

    Ok, thanks for that. Do you think a pilot would fly around like that when people were on the mountain? We were heliskiing that day,the first & last time I've been. The next time my bro offers to pay I'll quote you.

    The pilot probably had no idea if anyone was on the mountain.

    I really don't mind whether you or your bro paid for the trip. I hope you had a great time I know how much fun heli skiing can be.

    Mountains are beautiful and that one is a cracker. Your video shows this amazingly well.

    They're especially beautiful if you climb them. If you've never tried it please do so. It can be a life changing experience.

    I happen to think that they're even more beautiful without helicopters buzzing the peaks for people to gape at them.

    I've been buzzed by heliski/sightseeing/military flights while climbing. It's not pleasant to have my peaceful enjoyment of the mountains disturbed in this way.

    I'm very sorry if any of that gets on your tits.

    to you to and have a very Happy Christmas!

    Cool.
    I've been wanting to climb "the horn" for a few years.

    As for the heli, a couple things come to mind:
    a) when I am climbing and one passes, I need to stop because I can't think. This is the same for when a train passes at a certain crag. Noise messes with me on the rock;
    b) helicopters can be quite quiet. It depends on the muffler system;
    c) I never like hearing a heli because it usually means something bad has just happened.

    I would not pass up the opportunity for a heli ride in the alps. Ideally, I'd like to ride with an av control team some morning, as opposed to being heli lifted for any reason, or paying for it.

    And, I believe I saw some climbers on the horn in your vid.
    That thing gets alot of traffic.

    Nice TR.

    I think that would scare the shit out of me. Helicopters make me nervous, especially that close to the rock.

    Neat video, though. I like the way he spiraled up the mountain.

    Glad you liked it. I'd like to think if the pilot saw people on the mountain he'd not fly like that.

    Need to convince edg to host the rest of the vid.....

    To be fair to PNWBrit, I edited a out of my post an hour or so after I posted it. But as well and happy christmas anyway

    For the mtn climbing jongs, what is the degree of difficulty in climbing and summiting the matterhorn? Looks pretty gnarly.
