K2: Hellbent Alpine Ski (Men's Skis)

    Hellbent Alpine Ski

Adding yet another 10mm to its already capacious girth, the 2010/11 K2 HellBent is the latest example of America's obesity epidemic.

    Hey,

My brother bought a pair of pontoons this year and I was AMAZED how well they skied pow and groomers. So I'm looking at a rockered ski. The other alternative I see is the Hellbent but I don't ski switch or drop cliffs and I really like the progressive sidecut of the pontoon and the flat tail. Do you think there's some upside to the Hellbent v.s. the Pontoon?. Thanks

IF you are interested in a CHINA ski that will fall apart the second you get it on the mountain get a pair of K2's? Otherwise there a tons of posts about camber rockered skis like rossignol, 4frnt, armada, so do some searching and support a company that doesn't move to china to make the most money possible while creating a half assed product. Also the new hellbents are way to wide and are nothing like the origional hellbent that people use to like.

While i agree about american co keeping jobs in the usa, i think the hellbent is a freaking blast. It's hard to have much more fun in powder than on a hellbent. They float like a boat, and the flex is perfect for soft snow conditions. Now they are the heaviest ski you will ever ride, and are terrible when the snow turns to scetch. The newer model seems to be slightly stiffer than the previous model, some people won't care for that. My son owns the older model, and i can absolutly dust him through anything that's not deep. They can roll groomers but once you hit speed the rocker will chatter like crazy. So if your riding the lifts, and the snow is deep and soft, i highly recomend the hellbents.
