EC: Nor'Easter #1
You can cut me off from the civilized world. You can incarcerate me with two moronic cellmates. You can torture me with your thrice daily swill, but you cannot break the spirit of a Winchester. My voice shall be heard from this wilderness, and I shall be delivered from this fetid and festering sewer.

Is it too early to get excited? Nahhh....
AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE BURLINGTON VT
ISSUED BY NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE ALBANY NY
200 PM EST WED DEC 15 2004
.SHORT TERM (TONIGHT THROUGH FRIDAY)...
.
.
.
.LONG TERM (FRIDAY NIGHT THROUGH WEDNESDAY)...
SURFACE RIDGE BUILDS IN BEHIND THIS FAST MOVING SYSTEM FRIDAY
NIGHT. SATURDAY AND SATURDAY NIGHT LOOKS PARTLY CLOUDY WITH SOME HIGHER CLOUDS BUT DRY WEATHER.
THE BIG ISSUE WILL BE THE EVOLVING SYSTEM FOR SUNDAY THROUGH EARLY
NEXT WEEK. ON SUNDAY A SYSTEM NEAR THE GREAT LAKES BEGINS TO AFFECT NORTHERN NY AND VT...AND A LOW BEGINS TO DEVELOP OVER WV. THE WV SYSTEM BECOMES THE DOMINANT FEATURE BY MONDAY AS IT INTENSIFIES INTO A POTENTIALLY SIGNIFICANT COASTAL STORM. DPROG/DT OF GFS AND ENSEMBLE INFO STILL SHOW A LOT OF UNCERTAINTY AS TO HOW THIS SYSTEM WILL TRACK...SO WILL KEEP AREA UNDER A CHANCE OF SNOW/SNOW SHOWERS THROUGH THE REMAINDER OF THE FORECAST PERIOD...WITH THE THE HIGHEST PROBABILITY OF SNOW OVER NORTHERN NY LATE SUNDAY THROUGH MONDAY. CHANCE OF SNOW SLOWLY DECREASES AS THE WEEK PROGRESSES.To the Thingmajigger!

Looks like Plattekill and southern VT (Magic) are gonna get tagged. Hey, and watch out for those high fuel bills. You can cut me off from the civilized world. You can incarcerate me with two moronic cellmates. You can torture me with your thrice daily swill, but you cannot break the spirit of a Winchester. My voice shall be heard from this wilderness, and I shall be delivered from this fetid and festering sewer.

(Anti-Jinx) As you can tell from the cartoonish depiction of the Nor'easter, this is just a bad attempt by the oil industry to raise prices before Christmas.
I have it from good sources that it will be 50 and sunny from now until Memorial Day.Charlie, here comes the deuce. And when you speak of me, speak well.

Man, that looks like a tropical storm to me. I'm busting out the flip flops and surf trunks.

These are on the Auto Road Winter Cutoff, anyone ever ski it? I've never heard it mentioned. Looks tasty though, hopefully this weekend will help things.

this storm is going to miss the mid-Atlantic except for the western portions of the Allegheny mountains, therefore, the north east is only going to see modest snow gains from this event, will not be your typical nor’easter, sorry to tell you

I'm sure there's a correlation between the winged dough and fluctuations in the daily pain index.

I think the computer models are showing the storm developing further off shore now..pfft what do the computers know.
.LONG TERM (SUNDAY NIGHT THROUGH WEDNESDAY)...
NO CHANGES MADE TO EXTENDED PORTIONS OF FCST AT THIS TIME. CHC OF LT SNOW OR SHSN LOOKS REASONABLE SUN NT INTO MON AREA WIDE AS NORTHERLY FLOW AND AFOREMENTIONED TROUGH MOVE ACROSS AREA. LATEST OPERATIONAL SOLNS...INCLUDING THE 00Z GFS/CANADIAN/ECMWF ARE ALL NOW FAVORING A MORE PROGRESSIVE UPPER TROUGH...AND A MORE OFFSHORE SOLN INVOF OR OUTSIDE THE 40N/-70W BENCHMARK IN REGARDS TO CYCLOGENESIS AND ASSOC SFC LOW LATER SUNDAY INTO MONDAY TIME FRAME. THIS WOULD SIGNIFICANTLY LOWER ANY THREAT OF MORE SIGNIFICANT SNOW ACROSS VT/N NY DURING THESE PERIODS. NONETHELESS...PLENTY OF TIME TO MAKE ANY ADJUSTMENTS HERE IN REGARDS TO EVOLUTION OF SENSIBLE WX PATTERN.

Of course, they're downgrading the storm now. Still hoping for a Plattekill hit though.

Looking like the Berkshires could get hit pretty hard, hmmmm
anyone know what Magic's doing or if its going to be in the path of the storm? The Mini animal has his first dramatic performance on Sunday(portraying the role of Baby Jesus) so Magic is as far as I'm gonna be able to goLast edited by laseranimal; 12-17-2004 at 05:48 AM.
For sure, you have to be lost to find a place that can't be found, elseways everyone would know where it was
