Just make them drill for the Dukes, pull them off, and mount the inserts yourself! Be a grown man. Even I managed to almost pull it off (got three spinners, going to fix it some time soon) Heh.
I´ll let you borrow the tooling when you´re in Tromsø. FWIW, I´m pretty stoked on these skis myself, pondering about picking them up. The faggy rainbow version, of course.

Heh... The prob that someone said that with metal topsheets you should re-drill the topsheet, so that the inserts have even a remote chance of getting through? And knowing the skill level of our local shop...mmm...nah.
And me? Hmm... I can build a raid10 array in terminal under os x and I can build a timber frame cottage, but drilling my precious skis...naaah! I am a pussy.

okay, you got me, evo copied a line from the Dynastar website...which means translated from french to english (poorly, if history is any indication)...in all the meetings i sat in on, and time spent tuning/prepping 105s no mention of phenol or melamine...always marine wood of some sort...none of this matters, the skis rip and everyone should buy a pair...
what's orange and looks good on hippies?

rails are for trains
If I had a dollar for every time capitalism was blamed for problems caused by the government I'd be a rich fat film maker in a baseball hat.

You have to drill a second time with the 6.5 or so mm insert drill bit anyway, then tap, and then you should be in business. There´s no way in hell you´ll be able to force the insert through a 4.1 mm drill hole. Or is there...?
More and more, I think I should get myself a pair of these, if not for anything else than to put GMF "Cast" bindings on them as soon as they become available. If Dynastar pulls a Rossi move (eliminating the RC112 after one measly season) on this, they´ll burn.

Pulled the trigger! AD pros, 192. In the process of mounting them on the line. Seriously sweet stuff. Also scored a pair of Åsnes Amundsen 201 with Rottefella BC manual bindings. That was not a sweet bus ride back home (had the kid in her stroller with me).

I found the recommended line to be at 82cm straight pull from the tail, others have reported that it´s at 83cm. I´ll be fine, enjoy a rear mounted ski anyway. Notice I have two of the same ski? Holy shit, I look forward to skiing these, even if they are quite soft. Added a picture:

Yeah baby!

184s with mounting point on the line, 104cm from the tip. Damn rear mounted, like old im103s and explosivs...I Like!
Amazing how the Satan Claus can bring such a awesome present and a day early!
Looking forward to do some turns in few days. Surprisingly heavy sticks. I think they weight more than my old elan1010s that
I sold to get theese, even if the elans were 6mm wider. But, damn they feel solid. My rando setup (176cm/97mm LPs with dynafits) feel like randorace skis compared to theese.
Legs=Prepare.
ps. the sidewalls on my sticks seem to be wood. Untreated that is... got some fucking splinters under the fingernails...
Some liquid silicone will be applied pronto. Not that I had any probs with the first gen gotamas and their wooden sidewalls, even
if they molded up like an old carcass.

Some snapshots of the sidewalls, just treated with liquid silicone, same shit you use on car doors to prevent them freezing up.
So the color is quite a bit darker and shiny than the "au naturel" thing were. And, to my eyes, yes, looks like wood, but I am no carpenter...

All i can say is that they ski better in my opinion. Done it to every pair of my skis since they were straight.

^^^ It's just planing the sidewall back in order to be able to tune the side edge properly. Not a big deal.

Ahhh. In that case I do it with every new pair of skis I get too. A couple passes with a fresh 4" panzer on a file guide cuts through wood or melamine in no time.
